First I want to say I have nothing against transgenders. I believe they should have equal rights and I would personally never treat someone who is transgender differently for the way they are.
However, the problem that I have is when people get upset when someone says it's a mental disorder. Isn't it though? I feel this way because there's a certain hypocrisy with it. For example, if someone claimed they still felt like a baby and they walked around with diapers and a rattle, I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of us would say that that person needs help. But when someone says they feel like they're another sex, we're supposed to treat that like it's not a mental disorder? Why not? Doctors even say it's gender dysphoria.
I look at gender dysphoria the same way I look at depression, anorexia, schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. Nobody chose to be mentally ill, so you help them.
