Are you friendly to strangers?
Like if a complete stranger had a nice watch/bag/shoes etc would you compliment them?
What about if a stranger started talking to you? Would you talk back or freak out?

shareI went up to a pregnant woman and said: "you look great. When are you due?" She slapped me and said: "I'm not pregnant." Safe to say, I've never complimented any stranger again.
That story may or may not be true.
I had a similar experience when I said to a woman that she looked like Sissy Spacek in a nightclub, She slapped me hard across the face. It was meant as a compliment.
shareI told a girl once that her boyfriend looked like Matt Damon and she got so offended. I don't get it. He seems like a decent looking guy and he did look a lot like him. She probably thought Matt Damon was ugly and didn't want to admit the similarity.
shareYep some people are touchy, Especially on the booze.
shareThat's funny, haha
I don't think talking to a female stranger is a good idea, let alone complimenting on them
I tend not to address strangers in public unless necessary. I would describe myself as being stern and formal when addressing them.
shareNo matter where I am in the world, people ask me for directions. My wife jokes that it’s because I walk around as if I own the place.
I normally where rock band t-shirts and always get people talking to me about music.
Finally, I’m super friendly to people (without being stupid of course and staying street smart).
I might say something complimentary to someone if the occasion arose. I try to smile a lot and make eye contact, but most people seem to want to stay in their own worlds. If I go into a store I'll usually speak with someone who works there in a friendly way, try to make some type of joke, or maybe thank someone unnecessarily.
shareThat's great. When I worked retail I really appreciated customers that saw me as a person and not just a robot behind a till.
shareyes I am, more so to females :)
shareI would talk to a stranger if it was necessary, like asking for directions, cautioning someone who was about to have an accident on the street like getting hit by a car, asking questions in a grocery store, etc.
If a stranger talked to me, I would question their motive before I replied.
I'm generally friendly.
