Movies that beat "Sequel Syndrome"

"Sequel Syndrome" is very common in the film industry, and we've all seen it while growing up. I mean, you watch this great movie, and then you get excited when you hear a 2nd or 3rd film meant to continue the story shows up. But then, you are disappointed because the story wasn't as good, or they had different actors playing the parts, or they changed something about the characters you loved, so you feel different about them later.

What I thought would be great, would be to talk about movie sequels that beat this common trap. They do exist, but they are not as common as the bad sequels. There are even a few cases where the SEQUELS were better than the original! I'll show a few examples:

- Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and Return of the King
- Shrek 2
- The Matrix: Reloaded

There are more, but those are just very well-known ones.

Nice to see a fellow Matrix sequel fan. Most people trash them but I liked both a lot.

Saw 2. The movie set the standard for the franchise. First one didn't even really have any traps and was more of a prototype for what to come. When the sequel came it had more confidence, more characters and a higher budget and showed how it should be done.
