I never understood why the Oscars have a host anyhow. The host doesn't do much hosting. They come out and do some lame SNL monologue for 20 minutes. Then you hardly see them again. They show up here and there between commercial breaks, usually just to introduce another guest who's going to do the actual presenting. Always felt the host should be much more involved. They should be cutting to them between every single award.

No host is a good thing isn't it? Surely that should mean the runtime is cut down by a good part of an hour.
