There's a ton of movies based around Christmas, but I can't think of one based around New Year's Eve or Day. Sure, there are movies with scenes that take place around New Year's (When Harry Met Sally and a small part of Holiday Inn) but can you think of any others?

"movies with scenes that take place around New Year's" first thing that came to mind was...
New Year's Eve (2011)
and then for some reason, Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986).

Ferris Bueller takes place on a school day in spring, during baseball season.
