People smell like what they eat. Cultural and racial groups definitely have particular diets, whether by religion or tradition. For instance, eastern european white people smell very different than your average american white. Eating all them cured meats and preserved fishes all the time. Popular drink like preferred types of beer will go a long way to the particular stink of the general masses as well.
