Cerebral films.

Looking for something I haven't seen yet that really makes you think for a long time afterward, like The Man From Earth.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The Man From Earth is a hard movie to beat for thoughtfulness ... it was so sad that the sequel was terrible.

I know. I cannot think of any movie of the same standard, which really has the same wow factor. Watched them both again yesterday. The second one has grown on me a little more than the first time I watched it. It still doesn't come close to TMFE's brilliance though.

I hope they make a 3rd film. I think I can see where they would be heading with it, from the extra scene tagged onto the end of the credits.

Just goes to prove that you don't need special effects, a vast budget or massive stars to make a totally brilliant move - you just need a great idea and good scriptwriter.

I really could not stomach the second film, it was cheap and done by the son, I think, of the original writer/directory. Terrible.

That is exactly why the movie was so great, it was so simple and no effects, big stars, or violence, car crashed, technology, etc.

This is a comedy that contains many references to other films and a
decent soundtrack. When Brendan Met Trudy....

Thanks. Will look out for it.

You've watched Haneke, right? Bergman? Jodorowsky? Tarkovsky? Tarr?
