How many DVDs...BLUrays do you own?

I got an ass load myself...I'll count them in a minute...how many you got?

reply

Jeeze. Like 300 I guess.

reply

Very few...maybe a hundred or so of my favorites and my kid's cartoon movies
Streaming made everything so much easier and clutter-free!

reply

Yup👍 the wife buys them...many have never been opened.

reply

I have a few ive never opened...this seems true of everyone i know

Another DVD truism...much like your favorite books never lend DVDs out!
I let my 'buddy' borrow several of my Rob Zombie DVDs two years ago and have not seen them since:/

All in all i prefer streaming these days... no clutter or dust and my crappy buddies cant put me on the spot and 'borrow'

reply

No shit! Lending is a tricky move! Only the truest friends👍
That reminds me...Margo still has my copy of the canonball run😡

reply

It sure is!
Which reminds me, i would like to borrow Smokey and the Bandit from you
I really admire Sally Fields' performance in that one:)

reply

Nope! She's all mine😡

Ive always enjoyed collecting....

I've got about 1300 DVDS and 500 Blu Rays....

I remember in the year 2000 when DVDS were first getting big, I was in the 7th grade and went over to my friends house and He had "Scary Movie" on DVD and I remember watching The special features and deleted scenes and thought it was amazing.

from that point on not only did I know I wanted to get into DVDs but I knew I wanted A Massive collection, I liked The cases and wanted to display them....

In 2001 I bought my first DVD player, It was an "ahead of its time" DVD player/Entertainment center that came with 2 Amazing speakers with build in Subs, To this day I wish I still had it.....the night I brought it and also Bought "Beverly Hills Ninja" on DVD.....

The next night I went a rented "The One" On DVD and watched it....for a 2001 sound system it was amazing...

I consider My first "DVD" to be "Joy Ride"....because its the very first "New Release DVD" I ever bought, I bought it the day it came out and that started A Pattern I've done for 17 years of Buying New DVDs/Blu Ray's the day they come out....

I also go to Pawn Shops quite often and pick up BRs and DVDs....

But I must admit something is happening right now that Im not sure I even like....

for the last few years, I've been reluctant to jump on the Digital Train....as I like having a collection and having the cases.

But damn near every Blu Ray I've bought over the last 5 years comes with a Digital copy....about 6 months ago, I went ahead and set up a VUDU account and made my Digital Library....and I've really came to enjoy The Digital Experience, over the last 6 month I very rarely ever pop in a BR anymore, Instead I just go with the much easier and faster Digital copy...

I'm now full on The Digital Train and I'm trying to fill out my Digital library and much as possible , I'm currently trying to convert some of my favorite older DVDs and Blu Rays to Digital Copies....

again This is kinda sad for me, Because I've enjoyed collecting DVDs and Blu Rays so much and specifically enjoyed collecting them in Their physical form with thier cases...

but despite my reluctance, I'm now fully on the digital train....

although I havent Just BOUGHT Digital Copies......I'm still buying The Blu Ray's with Digital copies but I fear it may be heading toward a day when I just by the digital copy of a film...

collecting Dvds and Blu Rays has truly been a passion for me over the years....

I recently had to go through my collection and Weed out about 150 DVD and Blu Rays that I havent watched more than once and dont really enjoy simply because I just ran out of room....

I'll never get rid of the bulk of my collection, Even if I completely go full in on Digital copies and start only buying them, Or even if I converted every DVD/BR I have to Digital...I'll still keep them....

I live it Indiana and New Releases come out every Tuesday....for the last 10 or 12 years, one of my Joys is Heading to Best Buy on a Tuesday, Buying The New Release I'm excited about, Getting A Good Meal on The way home and Popping it in and watching it....

I especially enjoy The months between September and January Because thats when all The big summer blockbusters come out on BR....sometime 2 or 3 Major Blockbusters come out on the same day....

Quite the collector myself👍 space becomes an issue. I've had to part with some cool stuff over the years so I can get more cool stuff😂
