Favorite childhood cartoons....

What cartoons did you love when you were a kid??

reply

Looney Tunes
TMNT
Animaniacs (a bit older when it was on but loved it)

reply

Animaniacs

^ It's fun learning all the adult humor, inside jokes and jabs aimed at some of the characters and events when watching it as an adult. Adds an extra layer to an already nostalgic blast.

reply

Did you ever see the Prince "joke" that's probably the dirtiest hidden adult joke in a cartoon? Look up Prince fingerprints and you should see it.

reply

Need to watch it again. The first time I understood it, I was like, Whoa, did Warner Bros. really go there? I understand they were involved in an ongoing legal feud over Prince's music. The show could pull punches, that's for sure.

reply

They're playing detectives, looking for prints. Dot comes out holding Prince, saying she found him. Yakko says "No.... fingerprints (finger Prince)" and Prince looks at her excitedly but she says she doesn't think so, and tosses him out of frame.

reply

HA!

Talk about being left out in the Purple Rain! (^ ^)

Here's my brief list:
TMNT (1987 and 2003 series)
Teen Titans (2000s series, surprisingly dark)
Batman Beyond
The Animaniacs
Yu-Gi-Oh!
X-Men (saw it recently, holds up well)
The Simpsons
Pokémon (up to the Advance series)
Woody Woodpecker (personal favorite)

Fortunate to have relatives introduce me to Looney Tunes, Rocky and Bullwinkle, classic Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones.

reply

Woody was a great one, forgot about him.

reply

He seems to be popular these days outside the States, particularly Brazil and Japan, and Spanish-speaking countries too. You could say he's Universal Studios' mascot ambassador.

reply

I thought his laugh was very annoying.

reply

He is a screwball. The grim reaper thought the same thing.

reply

The Jetsons
Superfriends
Tom & Jerry

My absolute favorite was Dragon Ball Z. I was obsessed with it. I liked a lot of the Cartoon Network shows that aired in the late 90s/early 00s, as well as several of the classic cartoons like the Flintstones and Scooby Doo. But nothing approached Dragon Ball Z. DBZ was my life back then.
