A Very Special Video Tribute to Our GoDewey!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sxus3zPu7m0

I still am at something of a loss for words to express my sadness at his passing, and the great joy and honour I had in the great pleasure of knowing him.

He gave all of us so much.

๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜‡, and most of all ๐Ÿ˜‚ + ๐Ÿ’“

So long, Dewey, and thanks for all the fish!

reply

Beautiful! Thanks DF, but I started weeping ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ญand couldnโ€™t get through it. I will open the link again after composing myself. DF you did a most memorable video for our beloved Dewey. Thank you for this. Iโ€™m sure our Dewey is resting high on that mountain smiling down on all of us.

reply

I watched it all the way through not long before I posted, and yep, I started weeping too. But it was in a good way. Celebrating, crying, laughing, all of it. DF did an amazing job!!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ I'm certain it would be Dewey-approved :)

reply

You're more than welcome...it was my pleasure๐Ÿ‘ and that's how I like to imagine him as well๐Ÿ˜ƒ

reply

Here's to Deputy Dewey Boy! ๐Ÿ˜˜

That was actually a very nice video, D-feet.

reply

๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ’“

And just for you, healing ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ

reply

You always know when I need me some fluffy โค๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐโค!

reply

*smooch* + ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿฐ

reply

Woah, I think I need a minute to recompose myself!๐Ÿ˜ต

reply

Take your time, dear girl. Whenever you've composed yourself we can take this party into your basement and all sit around watching St Elmo's Fire and toasting Dewey!

reply

That party already started hours ago, where the hell are you guys! I've been toasting with myself in the mirror!

reply

Thank you stratego๐Ÿ˜ƒ

reply

I've already left a comment on the video but DF, you did a great job :) Dewey is most definitely looking down and grinning at all of us :)

reply

I agree, DF knocked this one out of the park! Couldn't be more perfect. Oh damn, tearing up again.

Dewey, see how much we all love you? Imma going to have to say I Told You So ๐Ÿ˜‚

reply

I told him so too. Someday they'll learn...always listen to us๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

Thanks darling! How are you doing? I read your Dewey thread...๐Ÿ‘

reply

I'm good. I've cried a few times this whole week but I'm feeling a lot better tonight. You really do have a good heart DF :) You doin' alright?

reply

Hanging in...thanks for asking. Tuff week...Dewey...then lost my 15 year old cat on Tuesday...dog shit week...oh and I Got in a car accident last Friday...just a fender bender...but still...balls!๐Ÿ˜ก

But here's something funny...I thought you were a waitress๐Ÿ˜‚ see what you learn making a video๐Ÿ˜‚

reply

That's what friends are for! Sorry to hear about the cat, its always so hard to lose a pet, especially one you've had for a decade plus. Hate to hear that you also had a fender bender! Take the weekend and relax and hopefully Monday will be so much better :)

;P Nope, not a waitress. I've never had that job but I would LOVE to. charliekelly behind the grill, me in jeans filling up glasses of sweet tea and always having a pencil behind my ear.

reply

I've never worked in a resturaunt either...bars? Oh YEAH!! Wouldn't mind owning another...but it tends to not be the ideal work environment for a guy like myself....the kind that wants to stay married๐Ÿ˜‚

reply

haha, probably true! Bars usually have trouble written all over them. Being a bartender would be fun too.

reply

I highly recommend it...if you're young and single๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

well i'm shit outta luck haha

reply

You've never been a waitress?? That's blasphemy or something like that - I'm not sure at this time of night. ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿฅค I had a waitress job when I was about 17. It was nice to have a few bucks in my pocket after my shift - and the paycheck could go straight to the bank.

reply

I haven't! Its a shame, I know. I think I would actually enjoy a waitress job, especially if I could get some type of free meal haha. I'd rather serve at my own restaurant.

What was your favorite type of customer?

reply

I'm not sure why, but I enjoyed the groups of older ladies who were out shopping together and stopped for a bite to eat. They were never in a rush.

And the young mothers with their little ones. They had a drawback, though. There was always a mess left on the floor, so you'd have to bring out the carpet sweeper after they left. But they usually recognized the extra work involved and tipped well.

reply

My actual job is a manager at a dollar store. I've worked there for two years and I live in a smallll town.
Some of my favorite customers are the older ladies and men. Several of them have told me they loved me and grabbed my hand and squeezed it. Its honestly the sweetest thing and makes my eyes tear up when I think about it.

I'm glad they would tip well! I've always tried to follow that standard, same for my brother.

reply

I think most older folks have better manners (not attached to their cell phone, for one thing). They actually engage in conversation!

reply

oh yes, the best manners! I'm always thinking about them and several of them I have their birthdays and phone numbers memorized and they get a kick outta that. I'm always happy to see them come in the store. :)

reply

These are the things that make work enjoyable, aren't they?

Time for me to get some sleep. Catch you later!

reply

yes, very much :)

Sweet dreams!

reply

Thanks Cat, how's your boy doing today?

Aw DF that's just wonderful, very moving but funny too. Thanks for creating that for us all.
I absolutely love it๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ
Did you not think to mention the salad thing?

reply

My boy is doing fine. Well out of the woods now! Thank Dog!

Didn't he do a great job? How fitting he'd work hardest and do his very best for Are Dewey!! The Salad Wars are in there, so you must mean Miracle Whip Is Salad ๐Ÿ˜‚

reply

Good to hear! We don't need more heartbreaking nonsense!

No doubt this was kind of therapeutic for D-feet.

reply

Did I miss something about Mijo? Was he ill? Sounds like heโ€™s okay now whatever it was. I know today is about our Dewey, but he would want us to have empathy for anyone (our beloved pets included) who is troubled. I did make it through DFโ€™s video and wept again.๐Ÿ˜ฅ

reply

I think for the first time he was actually making 100% sense!๐Ÿ˜†

reply

So true...and I think there is a โค๏ธ somewhere inside him if only he showed it more. I believe DF was definitely shaken by our Deweyโ€™s passing on to greener pastures or he may be waiting at Rainbow Bridge to meet his beloved pets when they cross. DF may become a better man while all of us search our selves to be more patient. Dewey left a mark on all of us...a good mark.

reply

I believe he knows that about himself. I think he might want to do better, but his stubborness might get in the way.

reply

He's a good guy. Really he is. Just look at this video!

reply

Yeah, I didn't post about it publicly. Was going to, but my internet went down for hours that night (again!). Don't want to make this about Mijo, or me, because this IS Dewey's Day, despite his love for animals.

So, briefly, the other day he disappeared for an hour. I was frantic. Neighbours helped me search. Finally he returned, tired but fine, or so I thought. By evening he was in real distress. Took him to the emergency vet. X-rays showed he'd gorged himself with so much food he'd found in the AM, his diaphragm was compressed. But no bloat! Which is what I feared and is often fatal.

LOTS of poop and keeping a close eye on him, now he's fine. The end.

I was so happy Mijo and I found one another, before Dewey left. I know he was too. It was something we shared, our love of dogs. In fact we first bonded on the Pet Fooled board. I asked, and he told me many hilarious stories about his pups, as well as sharing them here publicly with all of us.

Imma going to have to watch DF's video again. So far, I've only watched it once.

I wish he'd come here and take a very well-deserved bow for doing such an outstanding job in honour of Our Dewey. I think he's reluctant to, because he doesn't want to make it about him. I'll PM him and ask him to stop by.

reply

He doesnโ€™t have to make it about him. Thereโ€™s a way to graciously accept our appreciation for an outstanding piece of work. All he has to do is say โ€œThank you, Dewey deserved the best I could give him.

Edit: Good news about Mijo. Thanks for the info.

reply

I've PMed him and told him. Not sure if he'll come here and post or not, but I wish he would.

Thanks, Ksp. I'm very relieved my boy is okay.

reply

You are very welcome dazed. And thank you for being the very best friend to Dewey anyone could ask for๐Ÿ‘

LOL...must have slipped my mind๐Ÿ˜‚

reply

Now that is a very well done, accurate and befitting tribute !

reply

It really is db...and db? ๐Ÿ’™

reply

I agree!๐Ÿ‘

reply

Agree!! It's absolutely perfect. Laughter and tears ๐Ÿ‘

reply

good job broski

Today is a sad day but we must fight for the right to laugh in his memory.

RIP DEWEY

reply

My main man Stoney! Thanks brother๐Ÿ‘

reply

Nicely done, DF.

Here's to our Dewey! ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿฅค

reply

I'm glad you enjoyed it glen.is enjoyed right? Probably not. Glad it spoke to you on the proper emotional level...that sounds dorky๐Ÿ˜‚ but you get what I mean๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

Let's say that I really appreciate your efforts to help us grieve. That's not dorky, is it?

reply

Not at all...very sweet!

reply

Amazing work
Cant believe how quickly you put it all together!
Very impressed๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

reply

Finally manned up and came to this thread (although it is very slow now...not too brave huh?)
Thanks a lot shogun! When the project is as emotional as this...passion for the subject kicks in...you work day and night...it ruins your sleep...but it is rewarding to be able to honor a great man like godewey...so it's totally worth it๐Ÿ‘

reply

The traffic here is pretty brisk, honest and fun...

You did a fine job on the videos, we were all very impressed, im sure
I enjoyed them
Well done

reply

Brisk my ass! If it were any more busy it'd be a riot๐Ÿ˜‚ what the hell y'all doing up so late? I was expecting tumbleweeds๐Ÿ˜‰
