The Texas Chainsaw Massacre kept us from traveling through the southeastern portion of that state.

Wasn't that Texas?

reply

Yes. As I said, "the southeastern portion of that state."

My bad, I misread that. What do you think of the 2003 remake?

reply

I liked it, especially the presence of R. Lee Ermey and the eye candy of Jessica Biel poured into a skin tight pair of jeans.

reply

Yes! Big fan of R. Lee Ermey (RIP). Biel was great too. I think she was trying to shake off her good girl image by taking that role.

Lake Placid discouraged us from vacationing in Maine.

Here you are but I wonder why it's referred to as " fictional" when it's not: https://newyorkhistoryblog.org/2012/12/11/the-real-lake-placid-alligators-in-mirror-lake/

Death Wish & Eye for an Eye kept us from using a grocery delivery service.

"Candyman" kept us from saying "Candyman" five times while looking in the mirror.

'The Hitcher' kept us from eating chips (french fries) without looking at them. And, picking up hitchhikers.
