What did you watch this week sugar? (12/08-18/08)

Your spouse/parents/friends are tired of hearing you speak your thoughts on the latest movies you watched? Here is the place to do it among friends! Let's judge these movies!!

American Hero (2015 Netflix *MC Special): Here is my review from the first time I saw it and I still stand by it although I would add that it’s too short and ended a bit abruptly: By the trailer, I thought this was going to be a low budget superhero comedy/parody. By the rating (4.9), I thought it was going to be idiotic but maybe funny. So I gave it a try and I was surprised to find a well-acted drama that struck a chord with me. It actually struck many chords and the characters felt scary real. Never would've I thought that I would have all these emotions watching this. It does not rely on special-effects or action at all and the comedy aspect is secondary. It's in its tone, its words, its music; it’s in its heart that this movie stood out. 8/10

Blade of the immortal (2017 Netflix): This movie was a feast for the eyes and a torture for the ears. By that I mean the little girl’s constant shrill shrieking, screeching and squealing was like a needle piercing inside my ears. It almost ruined the whole experience for me. An unfortunate 6.5/10

Kingsman: The golden circle (2017 DVD) Even if I really loved the first one, I had low expectations for this one mainly because of the trailer but also because of the critics. I finally decided to stop putting it aside and it was a great decision. I liked this one too! The action does not exactly fit my taste but it was way better than I imagined. As for the story, I had so much fun with it and the cast was amazing. I mean, Moore, Tatum, Berry, Bridges and Elton John (the guy is hilarious in this!)!!! What more can you ask?? A free thicket to Poppy Land? Crazy place they got there. DWAM! 7.5/10

Extinction (2018 Netflix *MC Special) This movie is entertaining enough for one viewing. It has a few good ideas that were under-developed or just not used properly and it has dumb parts and moments that are too flagrant to ignore. Michael Pena is a good and likable as a secondary character but lack the talent and stature to hold a movie on his shoulders. Because let's be honest, he did not get a lot of support. 6/10

Are you trolling?

Hey you, were all waiting on you over here!

I know, I know! I'm done with my reviews (you might not like what I have to say though lol).

It was a statement of fact about a low rated movie. Try to maintain a sense of humor.

The rating was mentioned in the OP, so your statement is redundant. If you elaborated a little on _why_ you mention the films rating then it'd be a whole other thing.

Hey-hoo.

Kingsman 2 was fine. I had fun, not as much as with the first one, but still, fun. Who knew Sir Elton was so funny?

Blindness (2008)
People get afflicted with a strange type of blindness and have to live in blind squalor and blind human awfulness ('cause seeing people don't know how to blind, and isolated people don't know how to human, with dignity and without being jerks). Except Julianne Moore who can see, and she became kind off a bad-ass (in a sad, pushed by circumstances kind of way). This film was good! It showed the depths of human degradation without going into vulgarities. The performances were solid. The setting was great. I recommend it.

Avengers: Infinity Bore (2017)
The cinematic equivalent of mish-mash. All the characters were in it. And it was all very not that interesting. Am I supposed to be afraid of Thanos, or what's the deal here? Meh. A plus though was that it wasn't confusing with the bagillion storylines that were going on.

And now for American Hero....
A movie about a guy wasting his super potential and trying to get his kid back. And there's a guy with a girls name in it! How amusing! Well, I enjoyed seeing Eddie Griffin and the CG was good. I feel like this movie did what Dorff's character did, wasted it's potential. It's an interesting premise, but it was way too repetitive, the docu angle wasn't utilised well, and well I didn't care for these people. Sorry SK, but I did not like it.

Hi Mina!

Avengers: I like all these movies and this one too.

As for American Hero; it's a question of taste (obviously) but in this case your point of view is very normal because if you don't feel close to the characters you'll be in for a boring ride that's for sure. Thanks for giving it a try hough!
