It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

Ah, Beaver Brown ... now there was a band I really liked.

I saw them a bunch of times in '80 & '81 at The Bottom Line in NYC. These were the last two years I lived in N.Y. (I moved to Miami in early '82). Vin Scelsa of WNEW-FM used to play their self-released single, 'Wild Summer Nights' on the radio. I bought the single because I loved the B side, 'Tender Years'.

This was a few years before the film, 'Eddie and the Cruisers' was released, back when the name of the band was simply Beaver Brown.
In fact, if you look at the bottom of the 'EatC' album cover, you'll see: "Original Music By John Cafferty - Performed By Beaver Brown."

It was only after the first film was released that the band became known as John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band.
Personally, I liked the original name much more.
So now I think I'll close this post with Open Road, one of my favorite songs from the second film, 'EatCII - Eddie Lives!'. Let's rock!!!

Well, when I see bunch of weirdos dressed in togas stabbing people in the middle of a message board in full view of people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.
