Stonekeeper's Summer Game: I recommend THIS Mystery Movie #22 [Winner: StoneKeeper]

So you guys like to play games? Here is an investigation game that can be time consuming but it's lots of fun. Basically, I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guys are going to guess, I will give a hint that CONNECTS your guess with the movie I have in mind.

Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve a girl being murdered.

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints, the point goes to the OP and he gets to start another one.

Siberiade is a bit of a hidden gem among Soviet films, which I don't think gets as much attention as it deserves. It's a gorgeous movie.

reply

Thanks!

I dont think I'd be able to spend 4h35 on that kind of film

You really are a movie buff my friend.

Personally I divided it between two days, which I think is how it was intended to be anyway; divided into parts. So it's like watching two movies.

I think I fumbled hint #5. Partly because Reds isn't entirely set in the USSR (only partly) whereas Siberiade is ENTIRELY set in the USSR (well, geographically; the first part of the movie actually takes place in pre-revolutionary Russia). I had trouble wording my hint, because since Reds isn't entirely set in the Soviet Union, for a while I worded the hint as "the movie is set at least partly in the Soviet Union". But this could be seen to imply that part or most of the movie I had in mind takes place outside of the country, when in fact none of it does.

It only occurred to me later that I could have said that the film involves the Russian revolution. That would have narrowed it down more, been fully accurate and would have had no issues with how it should be worded.

I found it ANYWAY!

Lol yes indeed. Hownos is probably irked though since he made half of the guesses (including the decisive one that put it in the USSR) and got pretty darn close to the answer lol.
