shareIt has not been established that MC deleted the thread with perhaps the OP having done it. It would have been nice if MC had deleted the thread that they cited what was specifically wrong with it. Flirting goes on here and posters such as Stratego allude to possibly being involved in such activities even if she is kidding. Even if the OP was on the inappropriate side many threads here usually involving politics start off poorly but provide a platform for a higher standard of discussion. I don't recall in the mentioned thread that specific sexual acts were discussed or solicited.

Excellent is not a word I would use to describe a fair amount of General Discussion here. What you are trying to say that the board has a flavor you like and will loath to change your tastes. What exactly was nasty to you in that thread? I would not want a steady diet of such threads but really did not see the harm unless there was a very specific MC rule that was broken that perhaps some did not remember at the time.

shareBy all means, just expect rapport when you approach a normalised group which you are hoping to become a part of. There'll be a storming session again soon enough which may find your views aligning with those of others. Getting into social debt over a non-issue seems frivolous to me.
shareIf my statement in a future thread has value then there will be responses to it. Nearly all the boards I frequent have emotionally charged members and topics but yet they can all let go at some point to discuss future threads. I consider myself fairly intelligent so it will be somebody else's loss if they spurn a response to something I say.

Great troll is a artform but poor trolling is embarrassing.
Always assume people think you are a troll prior to saying anything whatsoever and it values what you do say just a little bit more Alfred.
I don't consider myself a troll and don't see trolling as anything approaching an art form. I can honestly say that on nearly every other board I frequent that I am held in high regard as evidenced by my ratings on other sites. People get over things including myself so by a couple of days down the road it will be business as usual.

It’s bad enough for some of us who don’t appreciate the profanity laced posts. We damn sure don’t need threads such as the S & M thread which was deleted. If permitted to stand more than likely it would have ended up way out in left field. In other words...anything goes.

share For openess and fair treatment it would be nice to know who had the issue and how MC determined the thread was not in the spirit of the board. If some sort of disclosure occurred it would prevent a perchance accidental repeat of a similar thread.

I don't see what difference it makes. If someone thought the post was inappropriate and reported it, the mods take care of it. I don't think they broadcast to everyone why it was deleted. One can only assume it violated the site's standards. If the original poster deleted it themselves, who cares??
shareThere is a difference between violating freedom of speech and upholding standards. Stating what was wrong with the deleted thread would reassure those that think the though police are being overly zealous here. If a statement was made by a MC mod that indicated what the problem was I would then abided by what was being established in that response.

Further, please fully read the post you responded to by me as I said I would abide by MC policy once clearly presented or defined. By the way I am really am disliking the auto correct feature on my new to me system and hope to disable it.

Hello, again! If you are talking pornography one would presume that you are talking about visual content or an express description of body parts pertaining to what might be seen in pornography. None of which made present in that thread. Other than the OP the whole thread had a rather dry almost academic tone to it.
The standards also mention other topic material so I will track random threads to see how true they are to the standards set here.
