Have you watched any good documentaries lately?

One of my granddaughters and I just finished watching Africa, a BBC series. I am pleased that she found it so mesmerizing. She's eight.

Indeed I had
A series of docs about Hitler's plans after the war
Ww2 the price of empire is also good

reply

Watched a couple doc series on netflix. The toys that made us just dropped season two.
And a new series evil genius...about the pizza bomber from about a decade ago. Both were very good👍

reply

Pizza bomber?

reply

Not lately but here are two good docos I really like...

Child of Rage

Cocaine Cowboys

reply

Cocaine cowboys was really good...part two was less intriguing...but not garbage👍

reply

I tried watching CC2 but I couldn't find myself getting into it. It just wasn't as captivating as the first.

reply

Right? Heated up slightly by the third act...but really did not hold my attention liked the original👍

reply

Do you know, was Cocaine Cowboys based on a book? I seem to remember a book about this. If I recall correctly, I started reading it, but stopped very early into the book. I decided the subject matter was not something I really wanted to spend time on. I'm so tired of hearing or reading about the drug situation.

reply

I think it was based on a book. I haven't read it, though.

reply

Okay, thanks.

reply

Haven't seen the doc, but the Child of Rage movie was really disturbing. Can't believe its based on a true story.

I watched a 5 part series on HLN at the end of winter about the Golden State Killer. He had eluded authorities for over 40years. They actually arrested him in early May. It was both surreal and bizarre. It turned out he was a former cop. Truth is stranger than fiction, as the saying goes.

reply

I think it's on ID too

reply

Yeah, could be. I like that network as well.

reply

Evil genius
Staircase

And for fun American vandal

reply

America vandal is quite funny! Maybe goes on for two too many episodes...but good fun👍

reply

The squishy toilet seat, hair on the balls, and the teacher that got fired, just too funny. Everything is so exaggerated and over the top like true crimes. Can’t wait for season 2.

reply

GTFO! Season two is on? SWEET!!! More people need to be hipped to this one!

reply

The Seven Five (2014) was good.

"Meet the dirtiest cop in NYC history. Michael Dowd stole money and dealt drugs while patrolling the streets of 80s Brooklyn." ⤵

RBG and Won't You Be My Neighbor were both excellent.

Thanks, I forgot about this one. Just added it to my watch list.

reply

Absolutely!

Last week I saw Wild Wild Country, about Bhagwan Rajneesh and his followers and their takeover of Antelope, OR.

It was good, but slow-going in part 1 (it's in 6 parts).

Africa sounds good. I like BBC productions. Nice your granddaughter and you watched it together and she was fascinated.

reply

I just added Wild Wild Country to my watch list. Thanks, especially for the heads-up about the slow start.
BBC productions are always high on my list, too. I really enjoy their stuff.
