What did you watch on this delicious week? (05/20-05/26)

Hi everyone, I thought I'd post my rating system witht his weeks's views. If you care to share yours, do it.

10: Masterpiece/ Favourite
9: "A" Awesome!
8: Very Good
7: Good
6: average
5: BElow Average
4: Bad
3: Awful
2: Did not finish-Might give second chance
1. Did not finish- No chance

My Week:

Wind River (2017 Netflix) : “ A veteran tracker with the Fish and Wildlife Service helps to investigate the murder of a young Native American woman, and uses the case as a means of seeking redemption for an earlier act of irresponsibility which ended in tragedy.” A true, simple and effective crime drama with good actors and beautiful, cold settings. Worth every minute but doubt I’d ever rewatch it. 7-7.5/10

Carrie (1976 TV): Some people LOVE this movie, some HATE it. I liked it. The slow-motion scene was too long, most scenes were good and only a few were disturbing. That's what I was hoping for, to be disturbed. Especially with what I read about the final scene and the prom scene. Prom scene was cool, final scene was weak. I really enjoyed the scenes with the mother. Especially the one where she cuts vegetables. So; solid acting, respectable directing, crazy story makes for a good film. 7/10

Cars 3 (2017 Netflix): I haven’t seen the first two Cars but I really enjoyed that one and I don’t understand the 1/10 and 2/10 reviews claiming their consternation and shock toward the last part of this movie. It’s uplifting, fun and the graphics are a big 10/10. I saw a lot of critics toward the way the movie handle the subject of aging. Apparently, cartoons don’t have the right to age. An hour into the movie the jokes start to get old themselves but apart from that, I had no problem. Oh and btw, his name in French is better I think; Flash McQueen. Say it, Flash McQueen. Way better than Lightning McQueen. 7.5/10

Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle (2017 DVD): “Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game.” My friend told me this movie was a 7.5 quality wise and a 9.5 entertainment wise. He had me convinced, he got me fooled. It’s not bad but I only laugh 2-3 times and not big ones. If not for the actors, this movie has very little to offer. 6-6.5/10

Hey SK!
Don't get to watch much anymore but wanted to stop by and say what's up.

The only one of yours I've seen is Carrie.
I still remember seeing this when it first came out.
At that time I thought it was awesome. I've seen it once since then.
Still good just not the same as it once was.

My rating system has been condensed.
1-6 - nothing special and won't watch again and probably wouldn't recommend it.
7-8- A good solid movie and worth a rewatch. Most of my favorites fall in this range
9- Some of my all time favorites
10- Not many in this category but the ones that do fall in here are brilliant.

Hi dewey!

Don't get to watch much anymore but wanted to stop by and say what's up.- is it a temporary thing or did you get too busy?

Your rating system makes lot of sense

Just got a lot going on right now.
I'll pop in when I get I get the chance.

Don't know if it makes sense but it's sooooo much easier!
Anything less than a 7 try and forget about it.

Good to hear from you my friend.

Hi Stonekeeper, thank you for ratings system. It makes sense to me, I pretty much agree with all your grades.

Wind River-7.5-8/10 I was not expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike you, I would watch this again especially for the some of the action scenes.

Carrie-7/10 I heard a lot about it when I was younger and when I finally saw it as an adult, it was truly frightening.

Cars 3- Haven't seen it yet.

Jumanji-6/10 Another movie that was a surprisingly good. I liked the first one a lot but I thought they were pretty clever updating the story. Jack Black was very funny in this.

May I include a mini-series, not just movies? I haven't seen a lot this week.

The Man in the High Castle Season 1-7.5-8/10 Truthfully I haven't finished the entire season and I still have season 2 to watch, but so far, so great. I really like it. I haven't read the book or many science fiction books at all for that matter, but I'm thoroughly enjoying this one.

Strangers on a Train- 7/10- It's on right now, as I'm writing this, but I've seen it several times over the years. Patricia Highsmith wrote this and Hitchcock directed it so it's wonderful. Robert Walker is super creepy in this.

John McCain:For Whom the Bell Tolls-6.5/10 This is very well done but only a small taste of the Senator's life. Really a tribute movie.
