Good guy or girl performers

Who is known for playing good characters and rarely plays a villain? Tom Hanks comes to mind for me.

reply

Will Smith
Julia Roberts

reply

Absolutley. I'm straining to think of exceptions for them.

reply

My best friends wedding- Julia was a bitch

Maybe Kate Winslet.

reply

Totally, the only exception I can think of is Heavenly Creatures and possibly The Reader, but she was sort of sympathetic in the latter. It was a complicated film.

reply

Thought of another. Sandra Bullock

reply

She was a real bitch in triple 9

reply

Jimmy Stewart ??

reply

Yeah, he played in some dark stuff occasionally but was usually a guiding light.

reply

Jack Black
Kevin Bacon
Sandra Bullock

Kevin Bacon has a number of villainous roles, although his good guy roles certainly outweigh them. Whitewater Summer, The River Wild, and Sleepers he was particularly despicable. There may be more, but I do agree that he is known as a good guy most of the time.

reply

I haven't seen him in much but he just seems too nice to be pictured as a bad guy.

reply

The River Wild and Sleepers are excellent movies. River Wild has Meryl Streep and Bacon.

reply

The River Wild is one of my favorite movies. I think I was 8 when I first saw it lol. Joseph Mazzello is a great actor.

reply

The River Wild was wild! I think Bacon is actually better as a bad guy, preferebly bad guy in authority (bad cop, bad teacher, etc.)

The Hollow Man is another example of Bacon being the antagonist. Movie was bad but Bacon was brilliant.

Oh, and X-Men First Class also had Bacon as the bad guy. First class performance too.

I'm going to check that out.

I searched it and it's on DVD so shouldn't be too hard to see. Thanks.

Griffith's character was terrible in A Face in the Crowd (1957)

reply

[deleted]

Griffith's finest performance. Plays a Howard Beale type character.

reply

Gregory Peck

reply

Milla Jovovich

reply

Spencer Tracy
Alec Guiness
Michael J. Fox

reply

Michael J Fox was hilarious on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

reply

Can you believe I've never seen one episode of that show.
It's one I know I would love but just never did it.

Is this show still on?

reply

I'm not really big into comedies, but Curb Your Enthusiasm is epic. It's a must see.

There was a 7 year hiatus between the last two seasons and it was worth the wait. It certainty did not disappoint!

reply

What's worse is that I have HBO.
Will have to start binging this one.
