Do you sing?

I do a lot when I'm by myself. Occasionally I will do karaoke. My standards for karaoke night are Crocodile Rock, Runaround Sue, Runaway (Del Shannon), Creep by Radiohead, Plush by Stone Temple Pilots, Another Day in Paradise, and always always Ziggy Stardust. I really like to do any Elton John because his voice fits mine well, and I can do any 90s rocker voice song. Think Alive by Pearl Jam. But I can sweeten it up and do Paul Simon or with Garfunkel. I have a bit of range but I've never been too serious about it. The only bands I've been in I was the drummer, and I am a good drummer, but I'd like to be a singer I think. At 30 I might be a bit old to go for music, but you never know. Right now I'm working on the Joan Baez version of Silver Dagger. Do you sing?

reply

I sing opera at the met,

reply

Yes,but not when other people's around..I have a terrible voice😉

reply

Sure, but far from anyone’s hearing, for their own good. 🙂

My dad actually has a very nice singing voice.

reply

Went up on stage and sang "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins for a school concert years ago.

reply

That's awesome. I love that song.

reply

I love that track. I've done it at Karaoke, but I've always wanted to do legit Phil Collins style and sing while drumming. I think I will have to make that happen. There's only so many drummer-singers. I guess I could do stuff from The Band, their drummer sang a bit.

reply

I'm a terrible singer, but occasionally I do sing.

reply

Only when I'm drunk. So the answer is yes, very often.

Waltzching Machilda, You'll come a-Waltzching Machilda wich me! Lalalala-til his billy boiled.

reply

Ha!
'Only when im drunk so pretty often'...we should put a band together Russ!
I can play a mean cowbell!

reply

It's a deal!

reply

I sing all the time. I'm not that great, I don't care if people hear me or like it though. I just like singing along and dancing to my favorite songs.

reply

It's definitely a skill that can be improved with practice, and not caring what people think of it is sort of an essential element in the early stages. It may even be an essential element to a happy life.

reply

I would love to sound like Adele or Grace Potter. It definitely makes me happier if a good song comes on while I'm at work, gets me moving a little bit faster, little more pep in my step if you will.

reply

Are you really a waitress thewaitress? Back when I was a waiter I had certain songs that I loved to come on and others that I dreaded. I loved when Fleetwood Mac would play and I hated John Mayer.

reply

Nope, manager at a dollar store. :) I spend about 35 hrs a week walking up and down aisles and dancing to the rare non-country song that comes on. John Mayer ain't bad but I love some Fleetwood Mac too!

reply

I just think if I hear "your body is a wonderland" ever again I will puke. It was like every other song in my Applebees days.

reply

that's how I feel about "hey bartender".

reply

I had a different job where I would repeatedly hear "Happily Ever After" by He is We. It's god awful and it was always playing!

It's case you're unfamiliar:
https://youtu.be/wDnfCuakV64

It may have sounded good at one time, to someone other than me, but not after 1000 listens.

reply

I might like that song every once in awhile but not everyday, especially multiple times.

reply

Only in the shower.

reply

I can attest to this.

Although I do remember you singing in the basement more than once.
That was you wasn't it?

reply

No, that was John Parr. We do sound kind of similar.

reply

Ahhh, ok.

So hard to hear with that bag over my head.

reply

Ah, poor dewey. Now that you're a platinum member, I'll make holes in the bag next time.

reply

It would be much appreciated.

Although If I actually am able to hear I may not think it's one
of the best movies ever anymore.

Let's just keep it status quo.
I'll just keep thinking about John Parr during the activities.
I'm fine with that.

reply

Then I will think of him too! Sounds hot!

reply

It's always hot in that basement.

Me running my toes through that gorgeous mane of his.
Doesn't get much better than that!

reply

Stahp it! I'm getting all hot and bothered right now!

reply

Just a whole can of Mousse and my feet massaging it in!
Starting with the scalp but paying special attention to the ends of course.

reply

I need a cold shower...and a drink!🍾

reply

I hear ya.

Just take it in the shower with you.
It's such a time saver!
