Never have I ever...

One thing at a time and be honest... wait for the next person

Never have I ever learned how to drive a standard

reply

I can't swim.

reply

You don't live near a body of water? Apparently there are lots of people these days who don't. Maybe fewer people actually swim for enjoyment??

We learned as kids - took lessons for several years at the local municipal pool. My dad, a very likable guy, made friends with the lifeguards there. We ended up with some perks. It was an outdoor pool and if a thunderstorm approached, they had to close the pool. Everyone left except the lifeguards and us. Once the storm had passed we went back in the pool for our own "private" swimming party. The lifeguards joined us rather than sitting on their chairs because they knew we could all swim quite well. It was a blast!

reply

I can't climb in a tree

reply

I've climbed trees but never went very high - too chicken and figured I'd be the one who fell.

reply

I start shivering even on the lowest altitude and I live on country side😬

...typed succesfully on my phone with just my thumbs.

reply

how do you make it through the day ??

reply

It's really a curse not to have opposable thumbs!

reply

How fast can you type?

reply

I can type pretty fast with one finger. Faster than with my thumbs anyway!

reply

you don't have a laptop ??

reply

You know how weird looks on the street??

reply

I don't have a smart phone

reply

I also have a nokia n73

reply

A laptop works the same as a normal computer keyboard.😐

reply

right - easier for typing was my point

reply

Yes.

reply

Probably not that uncommon in today's world. I'm old enough that I had to learn how to drive a stick-shift because we had one stick-shift car and one automatic. My dad thought it was a good idea to learn how because you just might have no choice in an emergency situation.

reply

I think this one has been posted before, but I've never tried pot. Never had the desire. Still don't.

reply

same here - we may be in the minority

reply

Probably, but I don't care. I'm old enough that I've learned it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about me or what I do or don't do.

never used a smart phone.

I have no desire to access the internet via phone.

I taught myself to drive on a standard...a Peugeot! I did so by sitting in the car, not running of course, and practiced working the clutch with the gear shift.

reply

Never have I ever learned to roller skate.

reply

can you ice skate ??

reply

negative.

reply

I figured - if you can ice skate then you should be able to roller skate.

reply

true. it looks fun, minus falling.

reply

I did a fair amount of ice skating as a kid. Did some roller skating as a young adult. I much prefer ice skating, though.

I still remember the time my dad entered me in an ice-skating race at the local lake. It was during a winter when I was about eight or nine. I was really upset that he did that. I'm not competitive and wanted no part of it, but he made me do it. I finished next-to-last. Maybe he thought doing so would awaken a competitive spirit in me, but it didn't.

reply

Do you have any brothers ?? My wife's father had two girls and he treated them like boys until they got to a certain age and then he gave up.

reply

Four brothers (and one sister), which made me wonder why I had to be competitive. My dad had speed skates, so maybe he really enjoyed that and was hoping that I would, too.

reply

so much for that theory

reply

Maybe he thought I was too quiet?? I don't know. I was the shy, quiet one in that crowd. I was second-born and all my brothers were younger.

Yes, I live in Minnesota now. My skating race experience took place in my hometown in Illinois. As for winter things to do: sledding & tobogganing, downhill & cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, building snow forts & snowmen, snowball fights, and these days snowboarding is huge.

Yes, hence my screen name. Lucky you. I haven't been back there since I took my dad on his final road trip a number of years ago. He grew up in GE and graduated from Glenbard (now GB West). We went in at the end of the school year and were lucky enough to walk through the school. The memories it must have brought him. I was 11 or 12 when we moved to Minnesota.

reply

I find ice skating to be far easier than rollerskating

reply

Same here.
