What films have you seen that you think no one else here has seen?

Name the most obscure, unknown, least seen movies that you have watched and see if anyone here has seen them. Here are the least watched films I have seen:

American Orpheus (1992)
Todo un caballero (1947)
Go in the Wilderness (2013)
All the Way to Paris (1966)
Sophie's Place (1986)
Fe (1994)
Ava & Gabriel: A Love Story (1990)
Leap 4 Your Life (2013)
The World and the Woman (1916)
Days of Gray (2013)

Have any of you guys seen any of those? And what are your least seen movies?

reply

Probably any of the North Korean movies I've seen haven't been seen by anyone else on this site. To list them:

A Forest is Swaying (1982)
The Schoolgirl's Diary (2007)
Pulgasari (1985) (Maybe someone has seen this one; it seems to be the most widely-viewed DPRK movie abroad)
Hong Gil Dong (1986)
Oh Youth! (1994)
The Flower Girl (1972) (This one is a really good movie, one of my favorite movies not just from the DPRK but from anywhere, but sadly it's little-known outside the country)
A Broad Bellflower (1987)
Wolmi Island (Wolmido) (1982)
Traces of Life (1989, I think)

reply

I haven't seen any of those.

hmmm...some of these have a bit of cult status, so i expect a person or two might have seen them.

sweet movie (1974)
sins of the fleshapoids (1964)
the book of life (1998)
neighborhood food drive (2017)
tokyo decadence (1992)
resurrect dead: the mystery of the toynbee tiles (2011)
stinking heaven (2015)
soft in the head (2013)

I thought the original was perfect. I didn't realize there was a remake.

reply

the original is a classic. the remake is not great stuff imo.

the remake does feature isabelle adjani looking not unattractive, but if that's what you're after, i'd point you to the oddball horror/whatever film possession from 1981.

reply

I have seen Possession many years ago.

The Strange Door sounds interesting.

Fiasko (2000) -- a bizarre Icelandic film

reply

Hadn't seen or heard of it.

The Forbidden Zone, with a soundtrack by Oingi Boingo (Danny Elfman’s band), and a scene where a young woman named Frenchy gets taken from behind by a human-sized rat.

i watched it on sundancenow last year. i don't think it's there anymore, but i believe it's still on fandor. it's good fun, i really enjoyed it myself. it is definitely & deliberately a quirky, oddball film, slightly in the john waters vein, though less transgressive as i recall.

so ymmv, as the kids say. if you have a taste for culty, eccentric films, by all means give it a try.

Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)

I've seen that one. Good film

Seen that one. It was pretty interesting.

Broken (2006)

There are two movies called Broken, both released in 2006, I'm talking about the one that doesn't have Heather Graham in it.

reply

can't find it

reply

Haven't seen that one. Is it any good?

reply

It's very low budget. It looks as if it were filmed in someone's backyard with a $2 camera picked up at a garage sale, but it is worth a watch, because it does manage to be very entertaining despite it's low production values. It's also pretty scary, as it had me biting my knuckles throughout.
