Movies that fall apart

What movies do you love the beginning of, and then at some point everything goes wrong? The one that made me think of this topic is Dune 1984. The beginning is amazing and I love it, and at some point, not quite sure exactly where, I start hating it. You got any like these?

Deliver us from evil. Its a decent horror movie at the beginning but from the middle on it sucks.

Stripes (1981), it starts to fall apart immediately after the graduation scene, I give the movie an 8/10 due to a strong first half.

For sure, it's very enjoyable if you love it for what it is, but it has a dramatic jump the shark vibe there. Still, I watch it regularly, and as bad as it is, it's better than most new films. Bad in 85 is totally watchable in today's market.

2001 A Space Odyssey. First three quarters are amazing; the story, the pacing, the acting, the special effects (superb even by today's standards). Unfortunately, it turns into an acid trip that requires internet reading of various opinions to determine what the hell the last 30 minutes mean.

Sigh..

Interesting, I like it all, and think the end, acid trip though it may be, is the strongest part. To me it's flawless.

I dislike Dark Knight Rises from beginning to end. I love The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Inception, Memento, Nolan's Insomnia, Following, Batman Begins, but TDKR is crap. Also I have never made it more than 30 minutes into Interstellar. I think that guy kind of fell off. Haven't seen Dunkirk but I've heard good things.

Dunkirk is great.

The Conversation - 1974

I will say I've had a hard time making it through. Don't know if I've ever finished it. It's supposed to be amazing. However, I had similar experiences with Godfather, and Part II, and Apocalypse Now, all of which now rank amongst my favorites. Perhaps I should try again. My favorites history notably includes a struggle to enjoy 2001, of which my esteem grows with every viewing. Some films just can't be fully appreciated with even a few watches, and I've always suspected the Conversation of being one such film. Only time will tell.

Chronicle. Can't quite pick where exactly it starts to go wrong, but at a certain point it's like 'oh they were going for a big climactic ending' but how they got there wasn't any good. I still love the movie despite this, but I can see it falls apart somewhere.
