Your favorite animal(s) in a movie?
I like the talking pug in "Men in Black" and the duplicitous monkey who gives the Nazi salute in "Raiders."

shareI got a kick out of that camel that spit on Conan in Conan the Barbarian and then got clocked by him. The way he bleated, followed by his knees buckling and then collapsing to the ground was both comical and realistic looking.
shareBenji!
shareA favorite of mine when I was young. Saw all the movies. Loved them all.
shareI fell in love with him!
shareI also liked Holly's cat in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (plus, she had a great theme song by Henry Mancini).
shareOh! Cat! I still get all weepy when she shoves him out of that cab. I desolve into tears when she finds him and scoops him up into her arms and into her coat!
Cat is the best! Thanks for reminding me. I'm ashamed at myself for not thinking of him!
One of the more touching uses of an animal in a movie definitely.
shareMy Dog Skip! One of the same Jack Russles who played Eddie in Frasier.
Such a great movie about one of the sweetest little dogs, And I'm a cat person!
I'm more of a cat person as well -- dog's are too much of a hassle. But I adored that dog too.
"The Beast" (an English Mastiff) in "The Sandlot."
shareI confess that as much as I'd like a little dog, I know in my heart that I'm all wrong for one. I don't have the yard for one to roam. While I love my walks, I'm not always in the mood to take a dog out everyday. I do take them out and play when I volunteer at the local animal shelter, so I get the best of both worlds. I can enjoy the dogs without the responsibility. I love cats because they do have a certain independence. They can be left alone if you want to go out of town for a day or two. As long as you leave them plenty of food and water, they are fine. Mine tends to follow me and be clinging for a few days after I get home, but that's ok with me because I'm just as happy to come back to him.
shareCats can pretty clingy sometimes though they acclimate themselves much better to being alone for a few days than their canine counterparts ever do.
Rip in "The Hunt."
"A man, well, he'll walk right into Hell with both eyes open. But even the Devil can't fool a dog!"
Love that episode!
And you gotta love Rip's name -- rest in peace.
shareThat escaped me for many years. It was only after I started visiting IMDb that I discovered the significance of R I P
shareClever touch on the part of writer Earl Hamner Junior.
shareI liked many of his stories for TZ. Ring a Ding Girl is another fave.
Who would have thought that his own life story would eventually become a hit series?
Loved The Homecoming. I have it on DVD. We still watch it during the holidays. Loved The Waltons! Spencer's Mountain? Not as much.
Speaking of animals, how about Chance, the cow from The Waltons?
That gal supplied that family with milk!
Mr. Jingles
shareBabe the Pig
shareOh gosh! FAR too many to list here, but to name a FEW:
• Bernard, Miss Bianca, Orville the Albatross and Rufus the Cat in "the Rescuers"
• Dumbo, Mrs. Jumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse in "Dumbo"
• Judy Hopps, Yax, and the sloths in "Zootopia"
• Pikachu, Raichu, Eevee, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Meowth, and MANY more in "Pokémon" (if they count)?
• Bambi and Thumper in "Bambi"
• Theodore and Eleanor in "The Chipmunks" (unlike Alvin and Brittany, these two are more "endearing" so to speak)
• And Babe "the Sheep-Pig" from "Babe" of course! Heck, he pioneered the "talking animal" films which would in many ways start to "take over" the business but he still holds up. :)))
