Your favorite animal(s) in a movie?

I like the talking pug in "Men in Black" and the duplicitous monkey who gives the Nazi salute in "Raiders."

reply

Ooohh that little monkey was a cheeky bastard!

I like 'Bruce' the animatronic shark from Jaws
He was great...his little motors didnt work very well, which led the crew to not display him so often, which increased the suspense of the film and was an accidental blessing
True story

reply

That story bummed me out the first time I heard it. I thought it was a creative decision on Spielberg's part not to show the shark. Turns out he he would have shown it a great deal ... if the damn thing had cooperated.

reply

I love these behind the scenes stories

If they showed off a fancy robo shark the whole time it could have been very stupid lol

Sometimes perfection is accidental!

reply

The talking dogs are funny.

reply

That scene at the beginning of "The Long Goodbye," with Elliot Gould's Philip Marlowe trying to feed his very finicky cat, is amazing.

reply

Great movie and a great critter scene!

reply

Babe is really cute!🐷

As for animated animals, I can't help but love Pascal from Tangled.

reply

The Siamese Cats in "Lady and the Tramp."

reply

Never saw Babe but now i want porkchops😬

Sorry...

reply

Why are you so mean???!!!😿

reply

Im awful😭😭😭

reply

[deleted]

I've heard Babe was great, but even though I know it's a happy ending, I've never been able to bring myself to watch it πŸ’”

Love the Siamese cats in Lady and the Tramp!

reply

It's a very touching story! Everything ends well, so only happy tears! And all the animals are really cute!

reply

🐰?

(I know, no buns. But fluffy goodness?)

reply

Mostly farm animals, like sheep, horses, ducks, dogs and cats. And pigs, of course!🐽

Fluffy bunnies would definitely have made the movie even better!🐰🐰🐰

reply

:( not so fluffy.

🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰s rule!

reply

They really do! I want a movie with only fluffy bunnies!🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰

reply

Watership Down!!

Except, 😭x 43.

reply

Nooo!!! That's a sad movie that gives me nightmares! I want a happy movie with fluffy bunnies!!!

reply

I know, it's awful!! Poor 🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰s

All I can offer you in the happy fluffy bunny department is clips of Thumper from Bambi. (But don't watch all of Bambi, because, 😭 in parts!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA9OisHtb6Q

Soft and fluffy goodness!

reply

Why couldn't the whole movie have been fluffy cuteness like that?! Why did they think we want to cry?!😒

Don't think sad things, Stratego, just focus on the bunnies!🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰 😍😍😍

reply

It should have been! What were they thinking?!?! No πŸ˜‚, just fluffy 🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰 ❀️❀️❀️❀️❀️, as it should be!

reply

[deleted]

Id say Yes to Godzilla!
He was quite stompy and fun to watch

reply

[deleted]

If Beefoven said that then im with the guy

The cardboard skyscrapers and model cars were the best parts of the Godzilla classics

Hell, if i had a million bucks id build a tiny balsa wood city, buy a rubber monster suit and really go bananas!!!

reply

Probably Clyde the orangutan.

reply

Good one!

Clyde was portrayed by several Orangutans in the films and at least one is now gone...sad really

Hard to believe those furry cuties can rip a mans arm off!
They seem so sweet

reply

Butkus in "Rocky."

reply

Bull Mastiff
Fearsome beast
My buddy had one...she had an awful temper
Scary as hell

reply

They're sometimes not the most pleasant animals.

In the movie Butkus was cool. In reality he could have been a different animal entirely.

Asta from "The Thin Man" series.

reply

Max's Australian Cattle Dog in "The Road Warrior."

reply

He was adorable and smart!
Good dog

reply

It's a shame what becomes of him.

reply

The bandit gang shot him right?
Its been awhile

reply

Off-camera. But still ....

reply

F'ing cold man

Happily, Max murdered the crap out of those shitheels!

reply

Messing with peoples' pets is really the last straw. I'm a peaceful person but if you hurt my cat Lily I will make you wish you were never born.

Kids who torture animals should be put to death. It's either that or wait for them to grow up so they can shoot up a cafeteria full of people.

reply

Butkus was super cool

My buddy was a dog rescuer and meant well but he wasnt very good at it and we were all pretty young and dopey

At one point he had a really sweet race track greyhound, two pit bulls he took off the street in The Bronx and a huge Bull Mastiff

The Mastiff and the smaller female Pit Bull got into it one day
I was at work...the witnesses tell me that they fought for hours but took several breaks to rest

The kennel was smeared in blood and both dogs needed several days at the vet to patch them up
The Pit was half the size of the Mastiff and they fought to a stand still

It was awful
My buddy meant well...he was just not a very good animal rescuer

I took the Pit off his hands and had 8 good years with her
She was fierce but very sweet

reply

That sounds awful. I've never been a dog rescuer myself though I've owned my fair share of dogs.

An obvious one: Toto in "The Wizard of Oz."

reply

It was
My friend felt awful

Toto was a good one!
Real little cutie

reply

No! Say it ain't so. I've known several bull mastiffs, and they've all been the sweetest things ever. Great with people and with other dogs, despite their supersized size. Gentle giants.

Sounds like your buddy maybe didn't know how to socialise his pup, or maybe was a rescue and had been mistreated.

reply

The vet told me the Pit was what he called a 'target dog'

The creeps who fight dogs ( this is fairly common in The Bronx) will let their champs loose on smaller Pits (like my girl) so they can 'warm up' for big fights against other champ fighting dogs

Pretty disgusting behavior but it happens...i hope the penalty for dog fighting involves lengthy jail time but i really dont know

reply

He was beat to death by his trainer...😑

reply

Oh man. First I find out he was played by several apes, one of which died and now find out he was beat to death by his trainer. I kind of regret peeking behind this particular curtain πŸ—Ώ

reply

Well then...do not dig into whether Clint knew about it...😳

reply

And not to stomp on any other posters...but he was only played by multiple orangutans due to the fact that the original died a month after the first film wrapped...they needed fresh meat for the sequel....shameful!

reply

Bart the Bear in The Edge. That is one magnificent, awesome animal !

reply

Scary looking beast!

Who the heck has the guts to even try to train a giagantic bear?!?

I wanna buy that guy a beer!

reply

I've pondered that myself, especially when you consider that trained animals occasionally do turn on their handlers.

reply

Exactly!

When i hear 'animal trainer' i pretty much translate that to 'guy who is going to get mauled anyday now'

reply

Chance, Shadow, and Sassy from Homeward Bound, of course. πŸ•πŸ•πŸˆ
πŸ˜‰

reply

Never saw Homeward Bound, but LOVED Bodger in The Incredible Journey. All of them were great, but Bodger stole my heart.

reply

I don't think I've seen The Incredible Journey.

reply

Baby, the dog in Clean Slate. https://moviechat.org/tt0109443/Clean-Slate

reply
