reply

Every Wes Anderson film ever made.

reply

Repo Man

Sid and Nancy. Another early Alex Cox movie.

I very much enjoy them both. But understand why people don't like them. Especially Sid and Nancy.

reply

Lol, I think most people DON'T like his movies, but he puts together one hell of a trailer. His reviews, from critics and fans alike, are usually not favorable.

reply

I don't want to hog the easy answers Dazed!

reply

Any "superhero" franchise

reply

I hate (and I mean really really hate):

Man of Shit(e)
Especially BvS:Martha
300
Alexander the Great (the new cr@ppy one)
Roman Holiday (one of the most romantic movies ever)

Love:
Casino
Goodfellas
Dave
While you were sleeping

reply

So, not a Zack Snyder fan?

reply

Defintely not, especially after what he had done with Superman. My favourite superhero reduced to angst and brooding and on top of that *not* entertaining movies.

reply

I liked MoS but hated BvS. He ruined both characters in that one.

I liked Justice League more than most, but I guess at least half credit goes to Joss Whedon for that one.

reply

Joss Whedon definitly takes credit for JL otherwise it would be on that list too.

And people clamoring for Synder cut (even though he didn't finish it) of JL after two of the cr@ppiest movies he has ever made.

reply

Snyder has the official credit because of DGA rules but I think you’re right as a practical matter— it’s Whedon’s film.

I thought Snyder did a great job with Watchmen.

reply

Watchmen was okay. It looked fine but as a movie, unfortunately I didn't find it entertaining.

Perhaps, I should re-watch it. What am I saying? Watch a Snyder movie again! I need to see my therapist.

reply

Will Ferrell movies seem to cause that kind of split response around here. I love them.

reply

I would agree with this.

reply

Not forgetting two of the most non-funny comedians in Adam Sandler & Ben Stiller. God how I can't stand them. I can take Ferrell in little doses but these two NEVER. As soon as I see a poster with either of their names on it, I almost puke.

reply

I can take Sandler in small doses. I liked the movies he did with Drew Barrymore, partly because I'm a total sucker for her smile.

Gotta disagree with you on Ben Stiller. I think most of his stuff is very funny. Zoolander, Dodgeball, Starsky & Hutch, and Tropic Thunder are all great.

reply

I am guessing it must be age difference between us that makes you like his movies because my nephews like them too.

reply

I'm with you on both, although I've seen a couple of Adam Sandler movies I thought were alright.

At this point I won't even watch a movie if I know Ben Stiller's in it.

reply

Good on you.

Now, we need to convince you to give up on Adam Sandler too. ;-)

reply

Personally I hate all Will Ferrell comedies..they're just stupid to me. He did do a drama that I thought was pretty good "Everything Must Go"..and I found myself, for once, able to tolerate him.
I also hate most all of Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller comedies...

Adam Sandler has had a few decent films (usually dramas) like Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Spanglish (2004), Reign Over Me (2007)..and I did like The Wedding Singer and a few others..

Ben Stiller films are the dumbest but I do remember a little known early film he did called "Permanent Midnight" and he was pretty good in that. He should've stuck to dramas.

reply

A woman (going by Roxie in the name) after my own heart. Well done.

Like you I also found Will Farrell quite good in (possibly) 'Everything must go' where he basically sells everthing in his front yard (if memory serves me right). I can't remember any other dramas from him.

reply

I couldn't agree more. Most people I know think Ferrell is hilarious but I've never been able to stand him as a comedian. He's just not funny to me. Incidentally, one of my favorite movies is one he stars in, called "Stranger Than Fiction." It had comedic elements but on the whole it was more of a drama and philosophical movie. I think he could be a decent dramatic actor, but his "comedy" grates on my nerves.

reply

Ferrell's scenes with Dustin Hoffman in that movie were priceless.
