Did you like school?

I hated school. It was boring.

reply

I didn't hate it, but there were some teachers who made it a real drag at times. I remember being a little apprehensive when I got to sixth grade and for the first time, my teacher was male. He turned out to be a fun guy.

reply

No, hated it, with the exception of a handful of teachers and classes, and meeting friends.

Otherwise, as a voracious reader with a great thirst to learn, I was much better off on my own.

Having been well removed from school now for a long time, as well as having experience in multiple different ways observing kids who are still in school (seeing it from both sides, in other words), I've come to the conclusion that typically you spend most of your time in school impatiently waiting for the school period of your life to end, then when it finally does you spend the rest of your days wistfully remembering how well you had it when you were in school! I don't think that's necessarily the case for everyone, but I don't think it's at all an uncommon experience ether.

reply

Haha! I agree!

reply

Nope. I was a solid C student who didn't apply myself. I was the type who would write a whole research paper the night before it was due. One of the highlights was a class camping trip the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The parties were fun too.

Some of it. I enjoyed science, history, geography, and art classes. Math, not so much. I also enjoyed playing football.

😎

reply

I liked art, history, science and literature
Gym was fun but i have no athletic abilty so that was just 'shits and giggles'
For some reason i can imagine you being good at football!

reply

I didn't say I was good. We actually had a terrible team. We only won one game, and we won it because that was the game we scored our touchdown. But I did enjoy it. I played defensive tackle.

reply

Well better than me for sure!
Defensive tackle...you must be a big dude
I was horrible at every sport but Tennis and Volleyball..i was only good at nerdy sports😔

reply

No
I was mostly bored and i was awful at Spanish and Math...i tried really hard too!
I just stunk it up...my teachers always passed me though because i was pretty well behaved and polite

My school memories revolve around the girls mostly...and broken hearts😖

Rebecca was my first big crush
Beautiful Italian girl with a 'Roman' nose and freckles...really adorable!
She tossed me aside for a hippie creep who wore tie-dyed shirts and always talked about Garcia and the 'Dead
F'ing jerk...he had a car and was a senior though so she was really just upgrading i suppose

I made it my goddamn business to get some hot wheels after that fiasco

Next gal was in my typing class...senior year of High School
She looked a lot like Whitney Houston...simply stunning
I asked her out during a slow time in class and she looked at me, brown eyes and long lashes flashing at me like warning lights, and said, 'My daddy is a minister and he wouldn't approve, so no...'
I guess Daddy had racial thoughts about dopey white guys...im not sure
So i got shot down by my African Queen...a boy can survive these things, right?
It was really horrible when the typing teacher (a very old and cranky African American lady) started cackling like a banshee and declared 'You are one crazy messed up whiteboy!! Hahahahaha...'
She must have overheard me and Whitney...and she was a member of her daddy's congregation
The entire class laughed at me...no fun i tells 'ya!

FML!
And F'k school

reply
