Favourite 80s horror movie?

This is my favourite decade for horror/slasher movies,I'm determined to watch all of them. There's so many I love

Happy birthday to me (1981)
Sleepaway Camp (1983)and the sequels
Blood rage (1987)
Fatal games (1984)
City of the living dead (1980)

Which is your favourite (s)?

reply

A Nightmare on Elm Street
Pet Semetary

I remember being so excited when they were coming on and being terrified after they had. I ended up liking the whole Freddy franchise but not as much as the first one.

reply

I agree you can't beat the original.

reply

Prom Night was scary too, and there was another one I think it was called Night of the Demons that terrified me. Was really the best time for horror ever I think.

reply

I agree, have you read the book Teenage Wasteland by JA Kerswell? It's everything about 80s horror, plus it has awesome posters artwork.

reply

Have never read it no, sounds interesting though.

reply

I also love Bloody Birthday (1981).

reply

This is one of those early 80's horror flicks that you never heard much about. Was glad I stumbled up on it though because it was pretty darn good!

reply

Yes i found it very entertaining, Blood rage is another good one.

reply

Haven't seen Blood Rage but I'll check it out. I just posted that The Burning from 1981 was also pretty good.

reply

I liked the scene in Bloody Birthday when he tricks the lady that he's poisoned everyone with the cake.

reply

Both were awesome and both scared the hell out of me
Classics!

reply

Same here, I think Pet Semetary even more than Nightmare on Elm Street. What about you?

reply

Nightmare screwed up my sleep for days after so ill go with that:/
But the killer baby in Pet was soooo horrific its very close to a tie

reply

The Changeling (1980)
The Thing (1982)

reply

I also love all the f13th movies

reply

I think The Thing was the best remake ive seen
And you cant top Kurt Russell

reply

Friday the 13th or the director's cut of My Bloody Valentine.

reply

Fright Night
Dead and Buried
April Fools Day

reply

Does the April Fools Day cover have some woman with a knife behind her back but also her hair tied in a noose? Seems like I can remember that box at the video store. I know I could google it but its more fun this way.

reply

Yes it does.

It's kind of fun horror movie.
I think they remade it at sometime.

reply

And I just got it right in that game. All signs are pointing for me to watch this movie. I think I saw the remake and it was really stupid. A bunch of dumb, pretty girls running around getting killed. Or maybe that was a Valentine one. Anyways...

reply

It is strange that it all came together like that.
Especially considering that guessing game was over a month old. lol

Dumb pretty girls running around getting killed is the plot to a lot of these movies.

The original one is nothing like that.

reply

Know what? I'm going to throw it on now just so it doesn't become something I say I'm going to do and then forget. I hope its not scary.

edit: i'm going to try and watch it now, doesn't seem to want to stream for me.

reply

It's not that scary.

Maybe a few jump scares. It's got some funny parts too.

reply

Cool, I'm working on getting it but not sure I can.

reply

What are trying to watch it on?
youtube?

reply

Some other weird website and now it timed out. You found it on youtube?

reply

I think I may have to give up for the time being. I would have been watching on my pc while i'm on my laptop.

reply

It doesn't look like it's available on youtube.

I'm sure I can find it for you.
When I find it I'll let you know.

reply

please do, or even pm me a link. That would be great, thanks. :)

reply

I tried to get American Gothic on YouTube but its not on there, another 80s one I wanna see.

reply

It’s avaliable on Amazon streaming and VUDU.

reply

I think my favorite 80s horror film is Poltergeist.
