Interesting...what do you mean by government brainwashing?
Was Manson's drunken teen-age whore of a mother, Kathleen Maddox, "brainwashed" by the government to abandon her child? Was the government at fault for the abuse a young Manson suffered?
Granted, many people have suffered similar abuse, but they didn't turn into sociopathic criminals. Manson was probably a borderline personality who could have gone either way. If he had grown up in a stable, two parent household, he might have turned out not to be a criminal. But he exhibited very little conscience from an early age, even when people tried to help him. He was one of those dark souls destined to do evil. How is that the government's fault?
Your assessment is spot on. I watched a special about Manson several years back and the thought was he could have fairly easily gone bad in a much better environment growing up.

Hey now, as a mental hospital survivor, they don't do that shit anymore. Mostly they just bore you to death because there is nothing to do in there. Also, most of the people in there are retarded, not crazy.
