It must be due to an ad or it could be due to you being on another device, other than a laptop/desktop. Right now, on my laptop, which is what I primarily use to view websites (no cell phones, tablets, etc.); I see the black bar with icons and the moviechat.org logo. Additionally, I have ad block on and so that takes away any glitches that an ad would create.

Yeah, it is definitely a different layout and interface on your mobile device. Why not just go back to being on here with your laptop/desktop?
See this is why I hate the whole "mobile" age to access the internet, because then people get all riled up that something is not working. When people get riled up, they then have to cater to those people and the old school, laptop and desktop users, have to learn to upgrade and then it makes for a disaster for them. The internet was intended to be for laptop/desktop. It is more or less a luxury for mobile users. If it is not working for you, just go back to a laptop/desktop. That would be my advice.

You can try some different mobile browsers, they're not all created equal, and in some cases yield rather different results. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Flashfox, Adblocker, all decent, and I have, or have had them all at one time. Some provide a better desktop experience than others. It’s been some years since I gave up my IOS device, so I can’t say what options you have these days?
shareI forgot to mention Dolphin, probably the best of them all imo.

Ksp, see my reply below. The problem isn't your browser or whether you're on your iPad or desktop.
shareThat’s right kspkap, I forgot that the default browser was Safari. If I recall, for the most part it was a pretty good browser. The default Android browser works okay, but sometimes holds my web surfing experience back. Thinking back, it seemed like Dolphin was one of the better ones. I was going to recommend Skyfire, but apparently it was discontinued, and bought out by Opera. But it offered the complete desktop experience, and would play all video files; too bad it’s gone.

Hi Ksp :)
You've mixed up MovieChat with TheMovieDb. Go here:
https://www.themoviedb.org/talk
It's the site with the black bar on the left that shows the avatars of people who are participating in threads. MC has never had that, and we only got the ability to upload avatars last week. But, they only show up on our profile pages, when you click on a user's name.
Never have had a profanity filter either here, or a visible ignore list. We can ignore people, but no way (yet?) to view who we have on it, or to unignore anyone. I never did sign up with tMDb, so haven't seen those features personally, but you're describing that site.
We also just got the ability to PM! Which I'm very happy about.
Oh! Good Grief! I am now picking up my head off the floor! Duh!! I said I've been away...apparently all of me hasn't returned (the brain)! Got caught up in Star Trek"s Transporter and some of the molecules are still dispersed!
Thanks, Cat...always to the rescue! Now I am going to delete this damnable post! Please folks, wipe your replies unless it gives you joy to see someone with egg on their face! Me...stupid is as stupid does!
Oh hey, don't feel embarrassed, Ksp! I was the only one who realized you were talking about tMDb site, because I've been there and recognized your description of it :)
shareThanks MissMargo and Cat, but all joking aside, I'm getting a little concerned. This episode in my life is one of many things occurring. Forgetfulness, losing items or forgetting where I placed them, attempting to recall a simple word which I've used for years. I have a lot of stained glass, lamps, decor, window panels, etc. in my home. Yesterday I had difficulty remembering the words "stained glass" then processing the word "Tiffany". All early signs of depression...or worse...Alzheimer's! I talk to myself in order to function, such as cooking. I am unable to multi task. Recently, I was driving to Walgreens, thinking about something and ran a STOP sign! Never, never have I done that. Thank God, it was a neighborhood (no traffic) 4 way STOP! For decades driving has been a second nature for me...not having to think about actions taken. Up until this past year I drove my truck back and forth, alone, from MS to Fla. Maybe no longer....
shareAt 61, I am experiencing much of what you describe. I worry about being so forgetful myself. I even hold long conversations with my cat! He doesn't seem to mind. I also find that word games and cross word puzzles are good for keeping the mind sharp.
If you are concerned, I urge you to see your doctor. It could be a big help in easing your worries and if there is something more serious going on, you can be helped and set on the right path to some early treatment. In any case, it would set your mind at ease.
Take care.
@MissMargo
Thank you! I got sucked into Pearl's Peril! Whew! Talk about taxing one's memory...this game has it! Hidden objects games are a good way to assist in keeping the mind better tuned. Not only do you gain points for locating the objects, you also gain for speed. Many, many chapters with Pearl's Peril. There is a story including travel, crime, espionage, etc. synonymous with a novel, but it seems to never end!
BTW, I wish I was 61 again!
