Did you delete your IMDb account?
I didn't see much reason to stay there anymore and have just deleted my account. Not sure if I will ever go back now, as the message boards were a huge part of me using IMDb (even if I read more than I post).

shareThe more features replacement sites are able to provide, the more users can and should delete their accounts at the evil former site. That's why it's important to get the replacement sites up and running.
shareNo, I kept mine, so my profile could state which discussion sites I'd be moving on to.
Yes, I deleted. The boards were the reason I ever signed up. Everything else I need to know about a movie I can get from Wikipedia, Rotten Tomatoes, or any number of other sites. Fuck IMDb!!!! 😬😬😬😬
shareDeleted it last night, frak them
shareNo. I don't want to do it just yet because the weasels could change their mind and decide to restore the boards (unlikely, but not impossible). In that case, there would be hope our old posts might be searchable again.
Funny though, I started using Imdb when it began in the late 90s...and the ONLY reason I did create an account there was in order to post on the message boards when they were added in 2001!
I'll never delete it as I have a lot of ratings and things I've saved up but yeah other than that there is literally no reason to stay there.
shareNo, I can still rate movies.
shareI just hope whatever else happens that people don't "take the discussion to Facebook" please don't. An independent forum like this is the answer (even if it's limited at the moment).
I hope people see what they are trying to do here. They are trying to control the internet, they are trying to control freedom of speech. Mark my words people, they will gradually remove any comment feature in any place where you can still speak your mind anonymously such as Youtube etc and "take it" aka, force it into Facebook or whatever other corporate C.I.A owned network site, where you're easily "kept in your place", they can target you there because you can't hide your identity and they can simply invoke some self-made policy to delete anything they deem politically incorrect or whatever.
I not only deleted my IMDB account, I will delete my Facebook account next.
