Lex Luthor being president was like Donald Trump

A while back, DC Comics did a story line where the arch villain Lex Luthor became the president of the United States. With all the silliness and absurdness of Donald Trump's presidential run, I kind of think it feels like that comic book story line. In both cases, it involves a rich, arrogant, conniving businessman becoming president. It's like life is imitating comic books. So it's a shame that in real life, we don't have Superman and Batman to save us from Donald Trump! 

There's a difference, though. Lex Luthor is a criminal genius and mastermind, but "genius" and "mastermind" are hardly the words I'd use to describe Trump. 

Here's a question: Who's more evil? Lex Luthor or Donald Trump?

And I'm not the only one who sees parallels between Donald Trump and Lex Luthor being president. Just look at these sites:

That's actually an insult to Lex Luther, who is a criminal genius.

Trump is just an idiot giant douche.

reply

And now, Trump's actually won the election. So he's even more like Lex Luthor. 

Now, I really, really wish we had Superman in real life to save us from Donald Trump.

As Phil Collins sang thirty years ago, "Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong, somehow."

reply

Both are equally villainous but at least Lex Luthor knows what the fuct he's doing.

The villainy you teach me I will execute-and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.

reply

Both are equally villainous

One is real, the other is not. How is Trump villainous, exactly? Aren't you a Hillary Clinton supporter? 

at least Lex Luthor knows what the fuct he's doing.

His writers do, airhead. How does Trump not? He just brought back 1,100 jobs and he hasn't even been sworn in yet. Why do you hate the USA?

reply

No I'm not and not he didn't. He bribed Carrier to keep half the people they planned to fire with tax incentives.

reply

He didn't what? You didn't support Hillary or you just wanted her for President?

He bribed Carrier to keep half the people they planned to fire with tax incentives.

He didn't bribe them. If they are incentivized to leave the country then they must be incentivized to stay. What he's doing is the way to keep businesses in America. You must make it profitable for them to stay or impose heavy penalties for leaving.

1,000 jobs at a rate of 40k per year equals 40 million dollars that united technologies has to pay out verses the 4.5 million of income they would have to pay Mexican workers. The jobs saved alone will cover the tax incentives alone by itself. 7 million means nothing to these big corporations, they probably gave that much as a bonus to their CEO for moving to Mexico in the first place.

Economists all agree it's a bad precedent to set. It's crony capitalism.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

No, they don't. You only mean the economists/apologists for the Obama administration.

It isn't crony capitalism, either. This could be a short term fix for Carrier to get them to the stage where companies are paying lower taxes.
