Correct, after WWII Germany had to do something to stop the hate against the Jews and they made laws that made for example denying the Holocaust a criminal offense.
To this day most of these laws are still in place and there are a lot of things one cannot say in Germany (at least not in public), simply because Germany still feels the need to make up for what they have done to the Jews.
Doesn't prevent the German far right from restarting the hate though.
