President Biden pardons his son Hunter Biden

Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Sunday night, a reversal for the president, who repeatedly said he would not use his executive authority to pardon his son or commute his sentence.

"I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice — and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision," Biden said in a statement.

Hunter Biden is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 12 for his conviction on federal gun charges. He also is set to be sentenced on Dec. 16 in a separate criminal case in which he pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion charges in September.

The pardon is expected to cover both his gun charges conviction and his guilty plea.

What about Hunter's laptop?

Apparently some people are above the law. Fortunately the guy is a crazed lunatic, he’ll give the authorities a second chance at some point.

reply

I've seen you mention Trump's felonies a lot here, but this is a far more direct example of corruption of power. Are you glad Biden won't be serving a second term yet?

reply

I recommend everybody read the NYTimes letters in response to this pardon ( you don't have to subscribe to read one article/day). It shows how normal, compassionate (yep, "woke") people respond.

The term "No one is above the law" is a misnomer and that anyone with power or money can be for the right price. I say good on Joe since Trump would've done exactly the same AND more. Anyone against it is just a hypocrite. Literally a no brainer.

What about Hunter's laptop? Who cares. If you can't care about classified docs all stored in the open in Mar-A-Lago, then this is nothing as well.

reply

He was legally allowed to have them, unlike Biden, with his cache in his garage (which he forgot about).

reply

What a liar you are. He was most definitely NOT allowed to take possession of them!

reply

What an imbecile you are, not only was he allowed to have them but Jack sent Trump an unsolicited pallet of docs to frame him.

reply

You have no idea what you're talking about a PRESIDENT is allowed. A vice president is most definitely NOT allowed.

reply

He kept them after he was NO LONGER PRESIDENT, YOU DILDO!

reply

Yes, and hes's allowed to according to the PRA and former presidents.

reply

You're embarrassing yourself... not that that's anything new.

reply

You're ignored.

reply

Oh mur-DUR! You will I face life?!?!?

reply

I don't approve but I also understand why he did it. I don't like the full and unconditional pardon since that absolves him of everything. I know Trump's administration would probably go after Hunter Biden for the laptop so it might make sense.

I would rather see pardons and clemency go away since every President and Governor has issued pardons in exchange for donations or favors. There are even stupid pardons like Trump issuing a pardon to long-deceased Jack Johnson. There are legal professionals who spend many hours on cases and an executive can make it all go away in exchange for a quid pro quo.

He pardon Hunter because his crimes were tied to Joe, hence, essentially pardoning/covering for his own crimes.

You cannot corroborate any of your baseless claims. Go away troll! Stop posting your LIES!

reply

Corroborate with who, the lying ass media that you believe is credible. It's no surprise that you're so brainwashed.

Nobody is above the law.

reply

Biden has proven that he and his pedo son are above the law.

reply

Hypocrites to the end!

reply

Why lie about it in the first place, we all knew he would pardon him. It’s the incessant need to lie that is the issue and his legacy..

reply

Because President Biden was still running for election when he lied about having no intention to pardon his son. It was critical to his “no one is above the law” tag line which the Biden administration articulated to encourage exaggerated criminal prosecutions of Trump and eliminate him as an opponent. Without the lie, Biden would have been seen during the campaign as a hypocrite which would have cost him credibility and votes. Once he was cashiered out of the election, staying true to his promise was no longer important.

reply

While I don't approve of Biden's act, it hardly behoves Trump supporters to protest too loudly, given how Defendant Donald has pardoned his own followers in the past - and looks set to pardon more, including insurrectionists - and even himself, when he gains office...

reply

You're too imbecilic to know what an insurrectionist is.

reply

An insurrectionist is someone who participates in or supports a rebellion against a government or civil authorities. What do you think one is?

Remember how I have told you before that an ad hominem is not a argument? It still isn't.

reply

I do think Trump was very relieved that Biden did this as he now has cover to pardon at least a big class of the J6 protesters. The scope of Trump’s plan probably depends on how far Biden goes with “midnight pardons.” If Biden starts preemptively pardoning people in his administration, it will really tell us the truth about the Dems’ cynical belief that they were the first to use the criminal justice system as a political tool against their opponents.

reply

Political pardons have long been common in the American system. The interesting thing will be how far Defendant Donald uses it - and whether he ends up pardoning himself.
