You can't explain it simply here? Are you basically saying that the site is manipulating its search algorithm to ignore certain members or channels?

I think most of what we are getting in the media today is propaganda and lies. There is a ton of background stuff about Ukraine that is simply ignored or skipped over in the media, and what we see are fluff stories and a lot of lies that ignore the truth or what real people have to say.

Here is a guy, Patrick Lancaster, reporting from inside Ukraine talking to real people and he has lived their since 2014.

I have an experiment for you. Type in "happy white woman" in Duckduckgo and Google and search images and tell me what the difference is. Its pretty obvious too.

There was a period when many algorithms were written to favor Democrats.

When you make a post it looks like you posted it, but no one else sees it.

The can add more likes in certain areas

Hide certain stories.

The Democrats were so triggered by trump for 4 years they did nothing but power grab everything.
Democrats control the media
Democrats control silicon valley
Democrats control the courts
Democrats control the FBI
Democrats control hollyweird

Their power is so obvious they can bury crack smoking, dead brothers wife banging, kid with a prostitute foreign deals around the world.

They can get away with high gas, high inflation. High crime.

And their media will cover for them,

13 marines killed and they drone a family in retaliation.

These are rich elite kids thinking they know how to run a country

Social media is completely fake and mainly driven by bots and AI. Yet, we craft policy around it which is frankly fucking terrifying, and we need to hard code into law that social media is not relevant in policy creation.

This is how it happens and such an indication of how utterly fucking stupid most people are. They have no idea how they're being manipulated, totally by design. Because of things like this "shadow banning", conservatives voices are silenced and 'they' (liberals) think they're the majority. They think when they do a Google search, it's 'just' a search engine with no agenda. Wrong! You have a handful of tech oligarchs, along with mainstream media completely controlling the flow of information. There is a hell of a lot of nefarious shit going on and it happens without most people knowing it.

This is why, you stupid liberals reading this, we can't stomach news outlets like CNN. Because once you see what is really going on, you can't ignore it. You dummies believe the lies but you're too dumb and too arrogant to see it. Yet you question conservatives' intelligence on a daily basis.

This is why I’ve divorced all things Google, or as much as I can. I no longer use Google as a search engine, I no longer use an Android phone, no Google maps, etc. As I said as much as I can disable. I still use YouTube though. Does anyone know of another “you tube” like?

I wonder if Google maps recommends ethnic foods over western when searching?

(Not that there is anything wrong with many ethnic foods, aside from some of their butchering practices (eg halal)).

As far as Search engines, Bing and Mojeek do better than Brave and Duck Duck Go. Google and Startpage were the worst on censored results.

I use Bing, Duck Duck Go, & Brave. DDG is a hassle on a phone so I use Brave or Safari. I will try Mojeek, was unaware of it. Thanks again for the assistance to divorce from all things Google which censors free speech from its employees and tracks us! Any info for maps which comps Google Maps?

Edit: No iPad App for Mojeek. I don’t like the small iPhone only apps on my iPad. I deleted it.

I don't know. Thing is, I still have to kick Google to the curb myself! I'm still on Chrome, for one. I have noticed myself that Brave does give about the same results, I think what they say about using Google results in the background. I have found different results with Bing myself, too.

Basically, you can do tests yourself. I got this information from these other search engines from a Substack post.

I won't recommend Yandex on here but apparently, it gives the best results.

But perhaps try it yourself with whatever topic you already know about against these search engines.

Very interesting & I’m going to bookmark your link. I used Yandex in the past, but I was uncomfortable using a search engine designed by Russians. Wow! It scored high in being uncensored! Who would have thunk! 😱 It’s the most popular European search engine.

You're very welcome! I'd like to get a new browser and still haven't made the switch after all that's happened. Laziness, I suppose. Have you used Brave? I heard it's good on privacy. And a new email that isn't my personal and that is not gmail. I use a gmail for posting but I'm sure they are monitoring in some fashion. Isn't there a proton mail? Is that the one where you only get one chance to pick an email name because it can't be changed?

I didn't know of Yandex's popularity that you mention. Maybe I will try it myself but had the same uneasiness.

i just stumbled upon this board a couple days ago. I was reading some comments on a movie and someone mentioned this poster's comment elsewhere and I clicked on the poster's name to find the post that person was referring to and saw there is a politics board that this person has commented on. I guess I've been out of the loop, even when it was imdb.

I re-installed Yandex, chose the language to English from Russian, then deleted it again. Doing innocuous searches would open hard-core pornography! Say what!! I closed the pages, deleted my Search history and cleared my cache. I also emailed Yandex with the url. I rcvd a reply stating without a screen shot they couldn’t follow through as the url opened clean for them. I sure the hell wasn’t going to search for it again! BTW, the Family Search option still opened with porno ads! 🙄

Another new one is Neeva, but for some reason it doesn’t like my iPad 11” Pro. The pages wouldn’t scroll, took forever to load so I deleted it.

You're right, well half right, the manipulation goes both ways. The worst thing about tribalism is it keeps you focused on what the other tribe is doing and you don't see what your tribe is doing. Then when confronted, the argument is it's necessary to counter the other side. The reality is you are just as manipulated but by different forces.

If you haven't noticed, (and tribalists are kept focused on the opponents so they never notice the faults in their own tribe,) the Republican #1 political strategy is projection. They project their own weakness onto opponents and accuse them of what they themselves have done wrong.

What do I know about dittos? (or dittoheads, you are right about that but now I just call them dittos) I used to be one. I listened to Rush, Michael Reagan, Weiner (aka Michael Savage), then I took some very good advice and turned the radio off, then stopped watching commercials, then stopped watching or reading the news, and it changed my whole outlook. I met or exchanged emails with representatives from political parties and that was eye opening. I woke, so to speak, but not in that way. I woke to the manipulation tactics used by political organizations, news, commercials, television, movies. The bigotry, misogyny and racism in the GOP. The cluelessness of the Libertarians. The lack of political savvy among Democrats and their tendency toward believing weird things. I realized how many people believe that television is representative of real life, or that news is news. What we really need is a new party that represents the common people with common beliefs but good luck ever having that.

Actually, it came right out of the mouths of GOP members. Funny what you learn when you turn off tv and radio and go talk to real politicians especially when the drinks are flowing. They love to brag about their masterplan to subjugate women. Another thing, right before they tell a racist joke, they like to namedrop where they got it. Everyone is trying to be the cool kid in school. It's amazing in a sick and perverted fashion.

Oh if you want a real treat, go talk to actual Libertarians, the ones that run for office. It's basically random people who think American Libertarianism is about FREEDOM! then get sucked into anarcho-capitalism. They are like Republicans without the racism and misogyny but have the naivety of Democrats.

Democrats aren't as fun because they tend to be politically naive. The Republicans are right when they say the Democrats can't meme and have no sense of humor. They don't really have a masterplan of anything.

I'm sure you'll never do any of those things. You'd have to get out of your recliner and leave the house.

We know the leftist social media moguls manipulate their algorithms to decrease the popularity of anyone they deem hurtful to society. For example new videos from right wing Youtubers who are still on YT never get recommended to me, even though I'm subscribed to them.
