T-rump asked Barr to hold news conference saying he did nothing illegal in phone call to Ukraine
Desperate times call for desperate measures...
T-rump has asked Billy Barr to hold a 'news conference' declaring that T-rump had broken no laws during a phone call in which he pressed his Ukrainian counterpart to investigate a political rival, according to sources familiar with the matter said. Barr declined, after giving it much consideration.
The request came from T-rump, handed over to other White House officials and eventually landed in the Justice Department. Barr's declination has been bothering T-rump over the past few weeks, as he's confided in White House officials he wishes Barr would have done as he asked. The request was made at the end of September at the start of the impeachment inquiry, according to sources.
Since the impeachment inquiry started, the Justice Department has steadily distanced itself from T-rump's White House. Sources say despite the fact that Barr wouldn't follow T-rump's request, the two still remain on 'good terms'.
