The Nice Guys (2016) is actually really entertaining. Have you seen it?

I was already a big fan of Kiss Kiss Bag Bang but for some reason was skeptical about this Shane Black movie. I should have trusted him and the really solid cast.

Although it has a lot in common with KKBB Nice Guys is slightly less convoluted. You may even be able to follow the plot in one viewing. Easily with two. Just like KKBB I liked these characters and wanted to spend more time with them.

Who else watched The Nice Guys and what did you think?

8/10

This was one of the most anticipated films on my watchlist in 2016, but when I walked out of the theater, the sense of disappointment was hard to shake. It wasn't flat out bad, but it didn't do much for me.

Yes. I thought it was fairly entertaining, a 7/10 from me.

It is a pretty bad movie with, for me, one revelation. I have never been keen on Ryan Gosling and have believed that he, with his blank expression, is a big recipient of the Kuleshov Effect (look it up). But he is quite funny in The Nice Guys making me think that his forte is comedy, not drama. Otherwise, getting laughs out of people being killed is not my idea of fun.
