There are many endings that are possible just as there are many young girls and women who have been sexually assaulted. You see, we like to wrap up everything in a bow as a film viewer or spectator, because naturally human beings like resolution. But to the many women that have been effected by these disgusting predator types our world has the thing is - all of their stories ( real not film ), have different endings. I think those that created this movie leave it up to a specific viewer to conclude Mackenzie’s story and that is beautiful. It’s a beautiful ending because imo this movie was made for all the women in the world that have gone thru this. To those that want blood, Rene slaughtered the Uncle. To those that want to believe in good and protective men and father figures , he scolded and threatened the uncle. But one thing is for certain, Rene didn’t abandon his surrogate niece. He gave her the light she so desperately needed in her time of darkness and he made damn sure he was going to see it thru. Whether or not that meant him seeing her into her troubled mother’s arms or adopting her himself. Beautiful film. Beautiful ending. It is digital hope in an analog world. View all replies >
