In a way, it is also unfortunately true that politics has been turned and merged into a fake (Kabuki) theater and entertainment. Society and entertainment have become much more politicized and polarized ever since Trump decided to defraud millions of people while performing an act as the global leader of lies, while getting a bunch of innocent civilians killed along the way.
Still, it is indeed unfortunate that murderers like this one had to trend on an otherwise fine website. I'm not sure it was such a good idea on the editors' part to keep this trending even if it does generate some hits and enraged engagements in the short run.
