Yeah, because he's 69 so the physical stuff doesn't seem so believable. I feel like he and Liam Neeson out of Taken should be sitting around playing dominoes together by now. I'm inclined to agree. These films are fun, but not good enough that I'd want to rewatch them. Anything from this movie that referenced the previous ones was lost on me. That is what I thought. Enjoyable, but not at all Black Mirror-y. This! I thought this from the moment we were introduced to the concept. If you have this technology you would obviously put them in space whilst your real self stayed safely on earth. There didn't seem to be any reason why not. You would also have several spare replicas packed for the trip, in case you lose one on a space walk or something. Yep, everything on earth was from the 50s. It was stylistically like the Fallout games, if you've seen those. Yes. They didn't. I hate reviews that just describe half the story. I'm glad I don't watch them before I see the movie. That one with Ryan Reynolds buried underground. It had long anchoring wires that connected to the ground a few hundred feet away... Although in a scene at the start it looked like one of these was about to fail, and they never came back to it. You have to think, though... If someone were diligently checking the integrity of the light every day, and if it were possible to go up and do maintenance on it, then surely the whole tower wouldn't be left in such a poor rusted state. All the way up we were given little indicators of how the whole thing is about to collapse. Do they go and replace their lightbulb using a helicopter? That would seem like a crazy operation. My biggest problem with the whole thing is. At least if it were in England, if there were any tall structure with easy ladder access, the whole thing would be entirely secured by some sort of cage / wall that you can't get through. Local kids would be off climbing up that ladder at every opportunity... and that is without it being in such a condemned state. Oh I so wish that would happen... so long as the invisible car doesn't come back with him! It's weird how the real Bond theme music doesn't feature at all anymore. I think that just displays how Bond died with Brosnan. She was the best thing about the film. They all do, that's tradition ever since the beginning, but it doesn't make it true in this case. Absolutely... and for better or for worse it followed a formula loved by the fans and this is why the franchise carried on so long. Always one guy. The only suspending of disbelief is every once in a while we'd have to get used to him having a new face. The Craig films are decent films, but they're not Bond films. Barbara Broccoli thinks that because they've gone done better with the critics means she's done the right thing... but a franchise doesn't live for 60 years just because the critics like the films... it's because the fans are invested in the character and the formula. They have now literally, and figuratively, killed James Bond. I agree. This seems final. The intention should never be to reboot the series every time a Bond actor 'retires'. With Daniel Craig they semi-rebooted the franchise. I didn't really agree with that at the time, though it gave them an excuse to make Casino Royale. If they tried to do that every few years then the franchise will die anyway. My only hope is that they've realise that Craig's films are not really Bond. So maybe one more reboot will bring back the cool character with the action and the stunts that we love. If not then it's RIP Bond.
