Yikes! I disagree. She comes off like an elitist spoiled brat and her acting is terrible.
It was a wildly disappointing plotline.
I grew up with a girl named Mary. When we were about 22, she told me at a BBQ that she wanted to use her full name moving forward, which was Marie-Christine and i was happy to oblige. About 1 hour later, I accidentally called her Mary again because it's hard-wired in my brain and she got mad. I apologized and explained that 1 hour cannot instantly erase 22 years of programming, but that it would eventually sink in. She actually agreed and apologized for getting mad. I always think of her when dead-naming or incorrect pronouns come up.
The vampires were also marginalized and experienced a bit of a genocide. Their culture includes drinking human blood and we have to respect it no matter what or it's racist and we are all basically Hitler.
No but I can't leave a post about sad music unanswered... in case you are sad :)

Because it was so long ago.. 2002. She served her time and people got over it, and had a sense of humor about it. The Laughlin situation is still fresh.
When Gillian Anderson opened her mouth and started talking as Thatcher, I actually had to pause for a moment because because I could not believe what I was seeing/hearing. Her performance was closer to an imitation of Dracula that it was to Thatcher. It was embarassing. I immediately started to search for reviews of her performance, and I could not believe many thought she did a good job, And she is a great actress... what happened?
