She was trying to use the phone to call for help - he cut off the hand that was holding the phone.
Yes the sound was amazing
Sound is such a huge part of movie mood, I am ashamed I don't pay enough attention to those responsible

"possibly devouring their soul just before, that's why the girl in the first scene seemed to go into a trance and then smile just like the demon, because her soul was devoured by the demon and took over her body to kill her."
Yeah, I think so too. At the end it showed the entity reveal itself fully and pull open the main character's mouth in an unatural way and start to insert itself ... I think that's why the young woman at the start looked like she was choking before getting up and smiling.
Why are you watching trailers?
I don't watch trailers, and I really enjoyed this
😜
You make a good point re the kid, it seemed like he was set up for more trauma, especially with the shot of him watching through the window
Yes, well said. Her love and care for Mustache was highlighted so that the entity would make her break that bond as part of the dehumanising process.
Me too!
I found this very creepy -scary and I am not a kid nor have I been locked up for 2 yrs
I am only surprised smiles haven't been used like this so explicitly before.
It was very well done.
The director apparently asked the actors to keep their eyes static when they smiled, to get the predatory effect
I so agree!
I put off seeing this, thinking it would be a kind of lame thriller ...
Was totally thrown- it was really scary!!!!
Regarding private suicide - yeah, only way I figured too but maybe it gets to you like a brain virus
Beautiful
It was explained, but briefly.
In a flashback voiceover the kid says he did it to himself "after the treehouse" or something like that.
