Good points. Third acts are usually where films fail from a writing standpoint.
I agree with you, but that is an accepted western film cliché. "Butch Cassidy...Kid" was noted when it came out as a movie where guns were re-loaded. It probably wasn't the first.
The accepted cliché that I hate is the head bad guy not being killed as soon as possible for the sake of extending the gun fight (in this case for about 20 minutes.) If Wade had instructed Boss to kill Denton Baxter first, the other guys would have stopped and dropped their guns. They have no motivation to continue since the guy who writes their checks is dead.
Tom Cruise addressed this cliched in one of the Jack Reacher movies. The only good part.
BTW, "Appaloosa" would have ended at the 15 minute mark had this cliché not been followed.
I am shocked that you are surprised by anachronistic treatment of women in a James Bond movie, even a current one
I think the Keaton/Burton interpretation of Bruce Wayne (not Batman) is the most interesting, even tho it is not remotely the Bruce Wayne of the comics. IMO, the interpretation is what makes the movie great.
Like you I agree this isn't the best Batman movie or the has the best Joker. That was the Dark Knight.
I asked the same questions when I saw the film back in the day. As a would-be writer I understood it would be a whole another movie if Marty came back to his house and another family lived there. He would have to search for his family and then his life would be radically different ( as you said). That would be one unhappy ending. As Hitchcock once said: "It's just a movie."

Yes Goldfinger is the best Bond movie, but it is a mediocre movie at best
He has a net worth of $50,000,000. His money makes money. Everyday.
Basinger wasn't so much miscast as the role as written is not Vicki Vale.
At the time the film came out I said Stilson was Gary Hart
If by lame music you mean the score then I agree with everything you said, but I still like the movie. It's a time capsule.
I suspect Chevy's PR team put that out or it's a joke.
It was a retcon. Tarkin wasn't the only general and political leaders were between the military leaders were between the military and the emperor.
"Superman is a surprisingly difficult role to cast, and even more difficult to make interesting".
Agreed, only Chris Reeve got it right. However George Reeves and Dean Cain weren't bad.
Qualifiers: All three of these interpretations never played it too serious. Superman, tho a great character, is just plain ridiculous and that needs to be acknowledged to make the character work in live action. Also Lex Luther needs to be in on the joke.
Chris was the live embodiment of the mid-to-late 60's/early 70's comic book interpretation of Superman. He nailed the discectomy of the two characters. He played Clark goofy but let the audience know that Clark wasn't a goof by giving a subtle wink to the audience. He played Superman as the big blue boy scout. Also Lex Luther as a comic foil was a stroke of genius. Serious Lex hasn't worked in the other movies.
George's overwhelming charm and his obvious winks to the audience are why this show is remembered and revered by some. The show wasn't great but George captured the 1950's spirit of Superman.
Dean Cain was the Seinfeld/Friends interpretation of Superman. The show worked for the time. I haven't seen it recently and have no desire, but I'm sure it doesn't hold up. The show was tongue in cheek and the entire cast played it well, especially Cain. John Shea was a good Lex Luthor.
The series should have ended before Rise.
One of the many stupid aspects for this film.
bump
who wouldn't take $175,000 over a bj?
In the so-called episode IV, Vader was a henchman for Tarkin. Vader was ret-conned in the higher slot for the next film
