While I don't think his language had anything --at all-- to do with his dismissal why does he have to be so vulgar? He and his family present themselves like crude punks. I assume O'Toole won the BFTAS? British were not likely to pass on the great performance. Somewhat the way Academy weren't not taking Peck. I think I would have voted for the newcomer's extremely flashy role on merit but there are other things involved and you can't deny that. I liked W.F. Buckley as a TV stylist too. There wasn't really anyone like him. However he was wrong on most things. A few examples were voting rights, Vietnam, and his advocacy -claimed inocent- for a convicted murderer who he successfully got out of prison. The ex-con soon stabbed a female in the chest. I really don't think I've watched a weekend political talk since TMG. They are really quite bad even at the network level. The FOX shows probably do well but they have a captive audience. NBC, CBS, PBS are just nowhere near what they were 20y ago on Sunday mornings. Leon Panetta the Director CIA at the time--being played by J.Gandolfini- doesn't look like the type that uses that much vulgar language. I wasn't expecting that. And do I think Maya would say something like that? No. 7/10 · Premiere Date "White House Plumbers" goes behind-the-scenes of the Watergate scandal as Nixon's political saboteurs, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, accidentally topple the presidency they were zealously trying to protect. Chronicling actions on the ground, this satirical drama begins in 1971 when the White H… MORE First episode date: May 1, 2023 (USA) i didn't like "Gaslit" which is fall all intents the same story. But from the low end guys in "WHP", rather than the Mitchells and Deans. Jordan Baker the golfer in Great Gatsby I think Cagney was wary of Ford in this picture as well. I think he mentioned that if it came to fists he was ready and wasn't concerned about it. I doubt it. Too easy to leak some info. He has to be the most successful disliked personality I've ever seen in broadcasting show biz. Very rich, very famous, does anyone like the guy? She was playing a real person though she didn't use a real name. That is what happened at the forward base (chapman) in Afghanistan. A terrible event. I won't give any of the details but she was iced today. How they "will handle it" who knows but this gets a 'wow.' Well we still don't know about the Paks and what their contributions were to hiding him away and perhaps giving him up? Losing the chopper was never really explained either. Most realistic scene was forward Chapman base, Afg. That's how it happened. The MD who was going to turn on OBL blows the contact group up instead (and himself). Terrible incident I think of the two women occasionally and their great loss. The Gambler Goodfella Nixon You can talk all you want about the different acccents but get real, some are much better than others. If a person can't possibly be understood by most strong non-King's English speakers they, probably aren't very effective. The people who broadcast to the world on the BBC are quite understandable you don't have to hang on every word. The best GB accent I've heard is George Sanders in "Lloyds of London." He sounded great. Michael: after putting down the fat guy (who was he) in the meeting room, firing him when he finally spoke up for himself after min's of abuse. Michael has a problem. Not to recognize it doesn't say much for those who don't and most of the normal character do. I have mixed feelings about the guy. But the man is ill. * This Steffy plotline with the nephew coming to live with her isn't working. * What is it with all the scruffy beards. Don't like it. * The young waiter (looks gay)just moving in with the older woman looks kind of ridiculous. Kind of interesting to think that this young burgeoning star was now on the way to the enlistment office for a few years in the Army. Probably Ford did too though I'm not sure about him. Richard had a lot of lean years trying to break in to an upper-status of show biz. But he had many years to close it out with consistent success. Interesting he was living in France and apparently he wasn't as healthy as he always seem to look. He would have walked through the door -which was what he did- and that would be that. He would Certainly be handled much differently and no service commitment which would have put heavy concentration into his earliest years. He still has the best Christmas album and single "Ill be home." Nobody else close with the possible exception of Crosby who made "Im dreaming" at the start of WW2 for a generational hit.
