Vinyl, the TV-show. Underground rock shows with New York Dolls and stuff like that. I didn't really fall for it, seems like many were a bit disappointed by the script. But the atmosphere is still good. I would also say The Wire gives me a similar vibe. Maybe also the old Hill Street Blues, cop show. I know, those are more crime than culture, but I think the vibes are similar. A more culture-related show could be How to make it in America. It's an uncertain recommendation cause I watched more than a few episodes myself, but I heard others recommending it. Barely top 5 of 2017. All the scares were very basic. Oujia, large mouths, bedroom doors slowly opening, shadowy figures walking around, demon hands coming out of beds, demons walking into kids' rooms and then not being there when you enter, lights exploding and picture frames falling down, blind semi-scary old person giving advice. We've seen it all a thousand times. There weren't any particularly memorable scenes either. Not even like Insidious, which I didn't care for, but had to admit I was scared to death by the red devil scene. Not a bad film at all, quite nicely shot and good child actors. But not particularly scary at all.
