Jonah Hill was the best part of this. He was hilarious!
It obviously wasn’t her and was actually a body double. If it were actually her they’d have shown her face and not just the rear lower half of her body.
Anyone who watches this movie and sees everything negative about these characters as some characteristic of the “other side“ are the exact people this movie is making fun of. This movie pokes fun at both overbearing/nauseating liberals and clownish, loudmouth right-wingers and I think they did a great job of that. I’m sitting here laughing about it because I know a couple of friends who will definitely see this as the “other side“ instead of looking at it for what it actually is: a parody of both the American right and the American left and the ridiculousness of both sides.
That’s one thing I never understand from these types. If you’re OK with interracial coupling in films (see the Sonic movie threads), gay characters, or a black guy in a group of white friends they call you a “PC-loving liberal”. Like as if being conservative means you only don’t complain if everyone on screen isn’t straight, white, and/or male. Puzzling...
Minority characters (i.e. racial, gender, etc.) don’t need to exist to serve a purpose. They exist just like everyone else. The gay character is just there. What purpose would you like for them to serve? You’d be OK if there was a huge gay protest scene? At what level of gayness would you approve? Just asking.
Seems like the movie was just written this way. Furthermore, fewer people are calling ambulances nowadays because the financial cost is astronomical. Anyway, the scene made me gasp in shock. I’ve seen more shocking scenes but they’ve never involved a child. Definitely an effective scene!
Why’s it propaganda? TV has been extremely white for decades. Was that propaganda? I mean, 90% of TV is still very much white and you’re pissed off at a splash of color? For every black main there are still 5 white mains. But I guess you don’t like those odds.
I, too, love this show. Only regrets are that the season is so short and I still don’t know all the characters’ names. My favorite so far is the Crown Prince’s bodyguard.
Look at the majority of film and television released in the past 5 years and it’s still overwhelmingly a white male hero who saves the day. A white male hero ,aim character. And quite often the black character sacrifices himself so the white male hero can fulfill his destiny. Mind you I don’t have a problem with a white hero. I’ve been cheering for them my whole life. What I’m saying is that yes there’s been an uptick in black heroes in film and the disparity is still overwhelmingly white leads. So for that I don’t understand why the black hero/alpha is “getting old” when the white hero alpha is still the vast majority. Hell, even the actor in this film (Trevante Rhodes) sacrifices himself in both Bird Box and The Predator so make sure the white hero saves the day.
I agree. I understand Frank sparing him for his kids’ sake but after all the folks he murdered and/or endangered? He should’ve died like the rest in my opinion.
Pretty much this! This whole thing wreaked of idiots who don’t know the value of their own money. Too damn concerned with taking selfies with celebrities so they can post to their Instagram to feel important.
It’s very interesting. Apparently Hulu has a documentary about the same issue but from a different perspective. I don’t have Hulu so I’ve settled for the Netflix version. Anyway, with the Tide Pod Challenge and Bird Box Challenge bring things people do it’s so easy to recognize why young people today have access to the most information but are the least Informed.
That’s rough! His career must’ve been on the brink for him to even consider that.
Yeah, a guy who hadn’t had a hit since 2003. Celebrities can just put their names on something and people jump on it. Puppets!
Jews, “darkies”, and evil multiculturalism. Yeah, everyone else has the agenda. Those words come from someone who’s obviously pained by seeing those he hates painted in a light he believes they shouldn’t be painted in.
OP comes in mad at Hollywood for using black men as love interest for white women moreso than they do Asian men. Then OP goes on a rant about crime stats because that lends to his argument (how? I don’t know!).
Dude, black women and Asian men are often put on the back burner as it pertains to Hollywood and “romances”. But yes, this is total “propaganda”. There’s clearly an agenda if they show a black male/white female interracial relationship. Even though it’s the most prominent interracial pairing in the real world. One thing I can tell you is that lately I’ve come to realize that there’s no single group of people who don’t think the world is out to get them and their the victims of everyone else’s “oppression”. Get the f*ck over yourselves! EVERYONE!!!
She wants supposed to be younger. When Tom makes a pass at her in the grocery store she says that she could be his babysitter. Then he says “My hot babysitter!”. They acknowledged the age gap between the two.
Just finished Season 2. Great show! And yes, Season 2 is better than Season 1.
The most common interracial coupling is white female/black male followed by Asian female/white male. But no matter what there will always be some comment when the pairing is white female/black male.
I’ve had this conversation with a guy who’s always harping on about how we should just forget about race and we’re all human. Yeah; until he sees a white woman with a black man as a TV couple and then there’s an “agenda”. Shouldn’t this “agenda” make such a person happy if they want race to be a non-issue? Also, there are hundreds of shows on Netflix and make 15-20 interracial couples (if that many). Seems quite lopsided if you ask me.
Deaths are based on fear and sadness. I don’t think babies have either of those.
