Very good analysis.
There is many references to historical figures (all white) in the movie for some weird goal. Napoleon is showed twice with a long emphasis on him the second time they showed him. Now what is Napoleon having anything to do with neo-nazis ? So yeah it wasn't just about bashing on neo-nazis,

I agree with all you said. Also, at the end, the young corporate guy tells Erin she will need to be ready to work 24 hours on 24 implying that Erin will most probably abort or had already.
Well they did show a tank firing at a kid's room just because they saw some kind of flash.
I didn't read the book but I enjoyed the movie. I think it was a flop for the following reasons :
1. The movie doesn't seem to be able to attract viewers (personally, I watched by coincidence);
2. It's a study of human nature and many are not interested in such movies unfortunately;
3. Finally, it's a very sad movie and, again, a lot of people don't like that kind of movies;
I agree with you that not using subtitles can be acceptable and even artsy as in The Godfather. Like you rightly analyzed, there was a valid reason in The Godfather. Actually Spielberg did the same in Saving Private Ryan with German language.
The problem here in West Side Story 2021 is rather the reason Spielberg is giving not to use subtitles. Spielberg said he refuses to use subtitles in WSS 2021 not to empower English .... and that reason is 100% woke in my opinion and non acceptable.
If Spielberg wants to be woke or push a woke agenda, good for him. But I'm not going to encourage that ideology that I consider insane and over the top. And I'm glad his movie bombed.

And by the way Canada's prime minister Justin Trudeau did 2-3 black face and got reelected by the very same diversity and tolerance. And he did that in the '90s so I think I could forgive Roger in the '60s.

The Fugitive was fun but I don't remember the acting of Tommy Lee Jones to be antyhing close to an oscar. I didn't even know (or remembered) he was nominated.
I don't agree with you at all, it had nothing to do with sex in my opinion. He killed that inactive woman and I'm pretty sure he would have done the same to any inactive man. Same for the architect, the probelm was not her sex but rather that Goeth could not allow a jew to act like he's the boss.
They probably didn't want to justify his behavior so they explain it by saying he was weirdo or something.
