I would put most of the blame on the producer and head writer. In those days many times a show was only a few episodes ahead of what was being aired for a given week. The production staff often found itself in a predicament in coming up with the story for the next episode to be produced.
Continuity was not a strong point of 1960's television. The thought was that an episode might be seen just maybe a couple of times after its first broadcast then seen no more. Soon to be forgotten permanently. Funny thing was some shows had a staffer to track plot points in order to be coordinated for future stories but evidence would suggest that they either did not do their job or were readily ignored.
Val Bisoglio appeared frequently on Quincy M.E which ran during the late 1970's// early 1980's the same as MASH. He may not have been willing to take on something that might conflict with his for sure gig even if it was just a few minutes of air time per week.
"They" really did not respect Potter because they did not follow regulations which could jeopardize Potter's career. But that opens a can of worms in terms of fiction versus realism for the show. Many threads here and elsewhere which covers that debate.
Well said.
Are you 10 years old? Can you express more sophisticated thought? 6607 posts? At what .10 dollars per post? You would be money ahead mopping the floors at Walmart. Your mom is not going to be around forever to give you an allowance.
Do you see Trump in your dreams? Do you sleep under your bed out of fear of Trump?
But the last one was not dark enough. But the last one had lame villains. But the last one hinted at the 1960's Adam West Batman. But the last one had Robin in it. But the last one had a strong female character. But the last one had weak special effects. But the last one had low stakes in terms of fate of the world. Complaints made by those who will never be satisfied with whatever is released.
US aid to (South) Vietnam was minimal prior to 1960 and was mostly non-military. More than once Charles DeGaulle appealed to Eisenhower to intervene on the behalf of the French and Eisenhower declined. Kennedy was the one who ramped up involvement by sending military advisers to help the South Vietnamese. It was also said that Kennedy was under pressure by the French who were being asked to place ICBM's in their country at a point in time where France was very fearful of Soviet expansionism in Western Europe. That the price of basing missiles in France would include helping it reclaim lost territory in SE Asia formerly known as French Indo-China. Eisenhower certainly was not a hawk when it came to Vietnam.
I doubt he got paid very much. I want to say that there was an episode or two where it was said he sent money home to his mother. At least he did not live in the back of the filling station like Gomer Pyle.
Inherited money or homes. Mostly the latter.
Madonna was not the first to sexualize her performances but she surely made it mainstream. She for sure impacted fashion for young women and made spandex everyday wear that could be bought in any shopping mall. I was in college around that time so it was easy to see the before and after in female performers. As said Slick came from an era where sexing up an act was quite rare. The only woman with any name recognition that I recall doing that was country singer Tonya Tucker but she was modest when compared to Madonna.
The better question is why do lefty's post such hysteria over a politician that they say is inferior? Do you hide under your bed at night?
Understood and I will have my morning coffee before I go any further.
????? Do you really think that the music industry cares about the average contestant on American Idol? They only care about making money therefore patronizing the older generations who usually have the deepest pockets. Otherwise 1960's music would have been relegated to the garbage can decades ago.
Just the idea that some people have won life's lottery complete with high paying high profile job and hot successful girlfriend to boot. Others who have come up short complete with crappy job, crappy spouse, and in debt up to their eyeballs which describes a lot of people.
Yep, Mr Happy pays her a visit later versus Mr Softy had the outcome been different.
18 week season but 14 game schedule like it was until the late 1970's. Each team gets a few byes per season. No byes the last four weeks of the season so no one team has an unfair advantage in terms of schedule relative to the playoffs.
The league is too big for the talent that is out there via the American college draft. Getting rid of terrible owners and successful recruiting of coaches has allowed this to be exposed. Not perfect as I believe given the 32 team league we can see that there are not enough good coaches out there as well. It took decades of bad ownership decisions and replacement with committed new owners to see that the new owners were better at identifying coaches and that the supply is finite. The league should have stuck with 26 teams like it was up until the mid-1970's when it added Seattle and Tampa Bay. Don't really need 3 teams in Florida. Had Bud Adams better managed his team while in Houston he would not have needed to relocate the Oilers. Also, given the never ending entertainment options in LA and the fact the bar is set so high for success was it wise to have LA go back to 2 teams?
Probably Lt Dan wired money to him or had somebody on the payroll to handle that.
