You talk like a Pharisee.
A slap on the wrist compared to what some other countries would do if their leader was threatened in a similar manner.
She was not the only one. Natalie Schaefer aka Mrs Howell really did not like the show but was far less outspoken about it. Also, Schaefer was a millionaire most likely after her GI days. Rumored to have been worth more than Jim Backus or Alan Hale, Jr.. Don't know about Tina Louise's outside of GI? It did take a fair amount of luck to hit it big. Lot's of attractive actresses angling for a handful of regular roles.
A few hints but few are around to confirm what has been said in recent years. His Bonanza co-stars such as Lorne Greene and Dan Blocker have been gone for decades. Most of the LHOTP co-stars worked at a time when mouths were kept shut and in general gossip was discouraged. The go for broke approach such as George Takei on William Shatner is more the exception than the rule.
Labor on the farm during the summer was no small deal. Bringing hay in, harvesting wheat, and cultivating crops were largely hand work back then. Often the father drove the kids like a task master. Being in school out of the sun and ready access to water would have been preferable to excruciating fatigue, thirst, and perhaps even being beaten for not getting enough done. Pretty easy being a kid today versus 1870 or 1924.
Only when sung by Mr Edwards.
They should have given him pimples to make him more relatable to other teens. I would not say that he was terrible but used poorly. In Hollow Pursuits when Wesley made the slam about Barkley somebody like Geordy should have come down on him hard and told him to keep his observations to himself.
Most bars are rough in that the patrons don't take to non-locals. Cheers type bars are far less common. A girl I knew from college many years ago who was taking nursing in college used to joke how she was going to go from being the woman that guys fought over in such bars (yes, she was hot) to the nurse who was working the ER where the guys wound up after they bashed each other's heads in.
It looked quite real except that there would not be as many hot women there if it were real.
The pipe was most likely concrete as that would have been a less expensive material to use for a drainage line. Even if it was made of metal it would have been cast iron which would have corroded from the waste put through it. Like another poster said most likely all the liquid waste from the prison would have gone through it with the waste water from the laundry being of a much larger quantity versus feces and urine. There was also the waste from the prison showers and cafeteria that most likely was mostly water. The description of the inside of the pipe was Red's who never actually investigated it but instead assumed. Also, to get good flow the drain was most likely vented like many houses do with their internal drainage.
Your posts are typically the best because you use logic instead of raw emotions to make your case.
I never saw a show that made so many feel so threatened by its existence. A period show that appealed to some but had its weak points. I don't know that it was any worse than most of the other shows which aired during the 1970's. I don't think that Albert was any worse than Ralph Malph or Stanley Roper or any of the other sad sacks that populated the airwaves then.
The show had run its course by the end of Season 2. The ideas had run out. The cliffhangers became more bizarre and less believable. The secondary villains had little energy to them. I liked Barbara Stuart on Gomer Pyle but she was out of place as were most of the molls in Season 2. I know studios don't like to be pushed around by actors but not having Frank Gorshin and his manic energy for Season 2 hurt bad. The only thing to look forward to in Season 3 is Yvonne Craig running around in a skin tight shiny costume complete with heeled boots. Yum.
I could drool over Yvonne Craig all day but the 2 part episodes with cliffhanger were better. The show was mercifully put to rest when Season 3 ended.
The older kids had dates a fair number of evenings and the younger kids hung out with friends away from the Brady house. Worse case scenario Mike paid to send all six to the movies for a few hours. Alice had her evenings with Sam. Mike and Carol given that they were most likely over the age of 40 had all the alone time they wanted. I was more worried about John and Olivia Walton or Charles and Caroline Ingalls having alone time.
???????????? The CHARACTER Mike Brady of which the OP was referring did not die from Aids. The ACTOR Robert Reed did die from aids. The OP has an issue with Reed which he is projecting onto Brady. I'm just giving the OP a taste of his own medicine.
25 percent has always been considered a safe conservative estimate. That makes it the single largest European based ethnic group in the US. But there is a certain amount of guesswork in most people. This is due to invasions and migrations that have happened over the last couple thousand years. Blending of DNA. Sure there is more that could be discussed but I don't think that the interest is here for it. I think that I covered most of the highlights.
Yes, Easter can come. There is little point in going further on this.
As to the rest of your statement some of the things that you say are incoherent. You say that no one literary source has ever told you that all Germans were Nazi's but the rest of your post indicates otherwise. Further, myself nor anybody else are trying to sugar coat atrocities. But it is an extreme stretch to imply all Germans were very willing participants. You probably do not live in a situation where you are under constant surveillance as you are allowed to freely express yourself here. Be thankful for that situation. I would observe that the contempt you have for most Germans of that time is like sugar candy to you. That you get a brief high by looking down at others who never had the chance to freely express what happened to themselves. As to my personal stake in this some of my ancestors were German and paid the ultimate price for refusing to be mindless minions to Hitler. My observation is that for no reason readily seen that you cling to what popular culture has said in reference to Germany in general of that era.
So when you say Hitler would not have as much success mobilizing other nations does that mean Germans were more bought in to Hitler's machinations due to some ethnic defect?
I don't know what your origins are but here in the US the word "use" or "used" can simply mean to employ willingly. Who did you use to repair your roof means who did you employ to repair your roof. With tax time here people will ask who you will use to prepare your tax forms meaning who you will employ. I hope this clears up any confusion.
