Maybe because an army of like 100,000+ just showed up on the doorstep of Winterfell. Likely thousands of the living will be dying next week.
I'm not particularly interested at this stage. I want a satisfying conclusion for this show first. A prequel series should not even be considered until this show has been completed and we have time to full digest it.
Them announcing multiple prequels before this show was even completed was not a good sign. It seems like they did that so as to soften the blow of GOT being ruined/rushed. They knew the idiot sheep would be be so excited for more shows with dragons that they wouldn't care how badly the original show was getting butchered.
Oh yes, I think you're right. I forgot about that scene.
That doesn't sound normal. A TV show shouldn't cause you to get a lump on your throat. Perhaps a visit to your doctor.
Nope. How can I agree to something without any evidence to suggest it?
You'e only up to season 5 or 6? You shouldn't be here, you could be spoiled.
What are you on about "filler"? There is absolutely no filler at the moment, that's the problem. Everything is being rushed... The filler was in seasons 5 and 6. Braavos and Dorne.
And why the hell does the current lame writing mean they should have ended the show after the books were used up? Instead of just firing the show runners and hire ones who actually have good storytelling ability?
???
That would suck so much if the Night King is defeated half way through the season. I really hope both the Night King and Cersei will both be around right up to the finale. I don't see why we can't have both at the same time. The Night King trying to kill everyone all the while Cersei tries to retain her throne messing it up for everyone else.
If the Night King dies first, say in the first half of the finale and Cersei a bit later, that would be fine. While the story of the living vs the dead is much more compelling then who gets to sit on the throne in the end, I think we definitely need some more "game" playing in the end. That of course has always been a big part of the show.
My theory though, is that Cersei will actually end up saving everyone. After a terrible loss at the battle at Winterfell, all the survivors retreat south to King's Landing where they will make their final stand. Once the White Walkers come, they lose again, where the survivors are forced to flee south yet again, perhaps to Dorne. King's Landing is then overrun with white walkers, and the Night King freezes the throne room over. Cersei then ignites wildfyre which has been hidden in the walls throughout the city, destroying all the white walkers and saving Westeros. "Burn them all".
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they only had enough material given to them by Martin to fill 3 hours - so they had to come up with their own shit for the other 5.
That's not the case at all. More like Martin gave them enough material to last 3 more seasons but they instead chose to condense it into two much shorter ones instead.
It's probably due to the rushed nature of these first two episodes. They are basically going through a checklist of things that need to happen before shit hits the fan with the upcoming war where likely many characters will die.
Basically tying up loose ends that should have been tied already but weren't due to poor planning, wasted screen time on filler in seasons 5 & 6, and time constraints due to these shorter final two seasons. This effects the writing quality because these things were not given enough breathing room which gives it a forced and unnatural feel.
He never told her she can't take it. If they had not been interrupted by the commotion outside then I'm sure Jon would have told her that he was not interested in taking the throne.
Yeah same.
Did Helm's Deep have a secret escape passage for the women and children? I forget.
Hopefully the crypts at Winterfell do. I have a feeling something bad will happen down there next week.
Yeah that scene was so forced and unnecessary.
I'm just worried they'll do something stupid and have it be Arya
Or Danaerys. Which, come to think of it, I can see that happening. Perhaps Danaerys was never destined for the iron throne, but for killing the Night King. It would work with that vision she saw in season 2. I would not mind that at all.
Have we seen completely skeletal wights yet? Or have they always been a bit fleshy?
If he didn't tell her now then he may never get a chance to, if one or both of them die. Sure Bran or Sam could have told her if but it would have meant more coming from him, and there's no guarantee they would survive either.
If Winterfell is taken by the Night King, either he has the ability to sense the living people underneath him (in which case they're screwed)
Not if they have an emergency secret passage leading out of there.
He's finally back!
I'm confused though, why is he so small? In comparison, Nymeria was bloody massive when we saw her last season.
I imagine it's due to budget constraints? As he appears to be a real wolf/dog, whereas Nymeria was obviously CGI.
I had forgotten about that theory. It's a really good one and as you say, the foreshadowing definitely seems to be there. It would be really cool if it happens.
I wonder if Ned Stark is buried there too. I remember someone (Tyrion or Jaime?) sent his bones back to Cat Stark at one stage.
