You are the one who is whining. I simply pointed out something. I couldn't care less who the Mandarin is or who Disney was. I've never followed them. They made the Mandarin a white guy because Disney bought the franchise and they had to be politically correct They also had to make Pepper a stronger person than Tony. It's not just you. It has a pretty high rating and always pops up in the discussion threads. I thought the Lord of the Rings was too long too. Could only sit through it once. He injured his back, I believe. We had him as a guest on our podcast show last year. Nice fella. Interstellar isn't a great film or a terrible film. It's just a lonnnnggggg film. Ninety minutes is PLENTY of time for a film to get its point across. Especially the point that this film seemed to accomplish. I would have rather seen a green Ernie from Sesame Street as young Yoda than Hayden take the place of the kind fatherly Anakin. The original scene of the three of them was about the only thing I liked about the entire film back in the day. I'd add the aesthetics were just cool. The mid-century modern architecture of the house, the colorful clothes, the clean yard. It was all very groovy. The Norman Lear shows were more successful I guess, but dang they were ugly. You are correct in that I do ignore almost every modern film (also tv, music etc.) I made a conscious effort years ago to 'tune out'. I'm sure you are correct about films today. I made the mistake of breaking my rule and seeing Incredibles 2 only to be horrified. I still look at the 80s as a time where every block buster included at least three songs the radio and mtv played to death, Burger King mugs, toys etc. Wow you are right. Does this mean he didn't even have a post during the entire IMDB era? He had his heart set on Charlie all along. He probably would have waited for his evil grandpa to die off and give him another chance. While I can't say that I HATE it, I have no interest in it. Yet it's constantly shoved in my face. It's ingrained in nearly every facet of pop culture which can be annoying. there is no escape from it. There also seems to be a presumption among many SW fans that EVERYBODY loves it. I can see why that could cause some people to hate it rather than just ignoring a film they dislike How on earth did the 60s 'end' with Altamont? I don't get it. Very good points. I would add that it's silly to judge or award music to begin with (or any kind of art for that matter). Evelyn was worse. EVERYTHING in Incredibles 2 was worse. If you mean Evil, Syndrome was far more evil. He betrayed, trapped and killed dozens of supers. He tried to kill Helen and the kids with a missile. He broke into their home and stole their baby. Why on earth would you want to see them call a truce? Yes I watched two episodes recently. They were pretty good. Had the charm of the original and Andy didn't seem as uptight as he did in the later TAGS episodes. But yes, it was a bit twilight zonish to have Andy playing a different character but the supporting cast were the same. Maybe it would have been on the air longer if he remained Andy Taylor. He hooked up with a new wife and she had the kids already... I never cared for any of the new series or films. Would have been better if they'd taken a few month off and found some fresh writers. the clown scene (and scenes leading up to) is actually my favorite part of the movie. It was quite boring to me other than that. He was mostly grumpy in that first scene where he meets Scott. He might have had a really bad day or was just playing up the attitude to the 'new guy'. You're criticizing crazy people? Of course it wasn't reality. It's a tv show and it's no more fantasy based than any other show (except for actual fantasy based shows like the Munsters and Bewitched). As far as social issues...why? To the OP, it's a comedy and played for laughs. If you want to see broken families and dated social issues, there are plenty of shows from the 70s and beyond that tackle that stuff. Keep in mind the musical has almost nothing in common with the film. The nude scene in the play is quick, dark and has no relevance to the story.
